Honestly I played in a campaign that had a very similar climax. One of our players had a personal grudge against the big bad and our barbarian grappled him so our sorcerers could go all out, encouraging us to hit him if it meant taking that b*stard out. The barbarian’s player got inspiration for the freaking epic delivery. And now I’m wondering how much that player and our dm took after critical role for that backstory and arc.

Just gonna say it... This episode is SERIOUS DBZ vibes, what with Pike's energy quarrel with Delilah, and then Kiki Spirit-Bombing Sylas into straight oblivion. And the music going along with the action? So, so freaking amazing. I love how Travis, being a huge DBZ fan, encouraged this kind of anime action in this episode. So good...! Edit: I just *hope beyond hope* that they animate the fight between VM and Kev'Dak (Go watch Critical Role, Campaign 1, Episodes 54-56 -- _trust me!_ ), and how that whole epic fight went down. Some people like the Briarwood Arc. I _love_ the Kev'Dak fight!

As a DM I havent had a moment like this yet with my players. But as a player I did. I was helping some newbies learn and I played a dumbass named Bob the Barbarian Berserker. He basically smashed kobolds into one another, killed a dragon with a kobold corspe and because "Ooo a weapon i can swing!" He literally grabs a flying sword and bashes an animated armor with it breaking all four swords and killing the armor this way. Anyway in the middle of that I had the bright idea after getting downed by a female bandit captain only to rise up again to grapple her and let my cleric, and rogue comrades wail on her and get the kill. So satisfying since I got a nat 20 on the grapple check.
