I absolutely love Stalogy. The main reason is the thinness of the paper. I actually like ghosting, and how the used pages get crinkly. As long as the ink isn’t too wet and the nib isn’t too broad, I’ve never had bleed-through issues. I also cannot deal with hardcover, and that is the main reason I avoid the Leuchttrum, although I do occasionally purchase and use their handy smaller sizes.

LOL I thought it was just me not liking how my fountain pen glides across the paper too fast. I love the Leuchtturm because my favorite nature colored fountain pen inks look best on that beautiful cream paper. Thank you for sharing.

Right? Team toothy paper! Well ... not too much tooth. It's complicated. Ha! Leuchtturm and Stalogy both make me happy in that regard.

@@KeyLimeInk I agree. If it is too toothy I feel as if I'm grinding down my nib..lol.

I've used Stalogy with fountain pens that have nibs from fine to stub and double broad; I got to the point where I just don't see any ghosting. I'm a fairly heavy-handed cursive writer too (almost like I'm trying to engrave haha). I haven't used Leuchterm enough to have thoughts. Thanks for your overviews!

Yay! It's good to hear from a fountain pen user having positive experiences with Stalogy. The reviews are so mixed, but I figured it would have a lot to do with nib size, ink choice, etc.

Stalogy is my favorite. I have a thing for thick notebooks with thin paper like Hobonichi cousin. Stalogy is the only thing I found that I can use as a plain notebook with the thickness and the paper I enjoy.

You can use cream coloured correction tape on LT, like Midori MD correction tape or Whiper that comes in different widths

Thanks for the tip! I’ll try a Midori tape next time.

@@KeyLimeInk I find that Kokuyo’s Campus correction tape matches Stalogy the best, and for me it lays down smoother than Tombow. It’s made to match Kokuyo Campus Sarasara paper which is off-white. I recommend their notebooks a lot if you just need something practical for daily use. It’s about 64gsm and their Smart Ring binders + loose leaf Sarasara paper were game changers for me for school, work, and planning specific to those. I could go on about paper all day, sorry 😂 Thank you for the comparisons!

The Stalogy in A5 has a 4mm grid, the smaller one like A6 or B6 have 5mm grid. And I love how you describe that your pen is skating around on TRP 😂 same to me, I like paper with a bit of feedback. Leuchtturm is my favorite paper right now, the 80 and the 100gsm of LT (A4 has 100gsm paper)..

Oooh! I've not tried the A4 with 100gsm paper. Adding that to my list. Thanks for the tip!

I enjoy both of these notebooks although the pens I choose to use seem to feel better on the Stalogy.

I've never used stalogy yet, so I can't say anything about it. What frustrates me a lot about Leuchtturm is that only the dot grid pages are completely used, no waste of margins or so. With lined or 5 mm grid pages, there is *always* a lot of the page wasted up and bottom because the lines or the grid only begin at0,5 or 1 cm up and ends 0,5 or 1 cm down... So I only buy dot grid Leuchtturm notebooks (though I'm not even able to write my lines straight with it... 😅😁)

Oh, that’s interesting! I’ve always liked the “breathing room” of the generous margins. It’s funny how we all prefer very specific, very different things from a tool as relatively simple as a notebook. My brain doesn’t work with dot grid, so I didn’t know the margins were different in that one! Thanks for pointing it out.
