@@ManSquatch777 When it finally hit me that the drummer for Gojira was actually playing those double-bass parts, with that power, at that speed, with that accuracy, without any cheats, I discovered Mario Duplantier. This was years ago, and I have been obsessed with Gojira ever since. For me, that's the #1 thing that keeps bringing me back to this band; as a lifelong drummer, I have to marvel at how unbelievably clean Mario's double bass work is; sure there's lots of other guys that can go that fast, but not like that; not with that much power; you can hear the air in between each stroke. In theory, this is a fairly simply band; but in reality they're TITANS! Honestly, Gojira TOTALLY flew over my head for years before I finally realized: THEY ARE ONE OF THE GREATS!!!

Hey man, just discovered your channel today and watched like 12 videos already. I like what you are doing, keep it up man! I really enjoy your perspective. I personally enjoy when you talk more technical stuff about the composition even though I'm a musical novice. I realize some people probably get lost if you go into the details too much, so you gotta do what you gotta do, but if you ask me I don't think you should worry about boring us with technical details. We came here to watch someone reacting to a song we (presumably) already know, so the added depth of your analysis as someone 'in the know' is actually a great way to have us come away from the video with more knowledge than just "Hey, that old dude likes the song I already knew was awesome". Anyways, that was just my opinion on the matter because I have heard you say that you want to spare us from the technical talk in some of the videos. I think that since a lot of your videos are about metal songs its fair to assume that a lot of your audience is interested in the more musically proficient aspects of the music than the average bear. We metal heads tend to be pretty elitist after all lol! Also, I'm sure it gets old to just get a bunch of hard rock/metal recommendations, but I think its a good niche to fill. Not as much of this 'reacts to' content for those of us interested in metal. If you are taking requests I would love to see more Gojira (nailed the pronunciation btw), Opeth, and Devin Townsend (my absolute favorite musician in the world) content, plenty of great recommendations in the comments. As for new stuff, might I recommend Children of Bodom? One of my favs, kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y5fZqHx7ZpKNf7s. The frontman's death was just announced today, so it seems appropriate. Definitely a departure from the more progressive stuff you have been doing, but Alexi was a phenomenal guitar player, and you cant really listen to those vocals as anything BUT an instrument hahaha! Best of luck to you!

Glad you started with this one, definitely an easy song to feel Gojira out first.

I saw them live and it was spot on to the album version. The rhythm was so tight and their rest pauses are amazing. One of if not my favorite band I've ever seen live. Also the nicest people you'll meet.
