"It's absurd that the all-time record for most rushing yards in a season could be set with an additional game. There should be separate records for each length of season. If you break Eric Dickerson's record in 16 games, you hold the 16-game season record. If Saquon Barkley sets a new record in 17 games, he would be the 17-game season record holder. This approach maintains the integrity of the records while still allowing players to potentially break existing records. In fact, a player could theoretically break the records for 14, 16, and 17-game seasons in a single year."

I rarely agree with Michael Irving, but I totally completely agree with him as it relates to a mindset, a mindset that they have to impose their will and go out and execute every time they step on the field, that’s a championship mindset

Is it me or does keyshawn always speak like his opinion is fact ? And can't understand why other people don't understand what he's saying. Lmao. How about this scenario key, they sit saquon and he gets hurt on the first series of the first playoff game. Then what say you ?

They should go for it. It's not about being scared, it's about winning, get the records, get the Super Bowl, get it all.

This mentality is why Keyshawn was an average receiver & not a HOF receiver.

To me it's silly that we make a big del out of having a 2000 yard season when O.J. did it in 14 games. The standard should be his average per game, that way it's the same which would be 2286 yards in 16 games and 2429 yards in 17 games.

As an eagles fan, I want them to go for the record. Talk about the what ifs you can get hurt.The first snap of wild card weekend.

I feel 2k-Sa has the say. If he feels he can and wants to, let him do it. The team gets recognition as well, but he is the one to break it. Let him finish the season in style like his reverse hurdle!

To not chase it would be the most team first thing to do but I think everyone understands him trying to get it!

By not playing, Saquon is not only giving up an opportunity at the All Time NFL rushing record, he's removing himself from the MVP race as well...AT BARLEY'S AGE, HE SHOULD BE TRYING TO GO FOR THE TRIFECTA(rushing record, MVP & Superbowl)TO CEMENT HIS PLACE IN NFL HISTORY...He could conceivably break the rushing record, win the MVP, win the Superbowl and win the Superbowl MVP.🤔

When a RB is in the Zone like Saquon, you go for it. The chance of any RB coming close does not happen often and especially by the same RB. This might be his only chance to break it. Records are meant to be broken.

Nick was the one asking saquon, if he wanted to play more or let the back up play. Eagles going for that rushing rec.

im feeling the same way with lamar .. I dont want him to get hurt trying to go for this record and its a record thats never been done ever .. he needs 45 passing yards and 150 rushing that is putting him at too much of a risk of getting hurt for a record
@LinkCtProds2 күн бұрын
OJ Simpson ran for 2,003 in a 12 Game Season in 1973. Five games have been added to the season since then. Regardless, it is hard to run for 2,000 in a season. So if Saquon does it, there will not be an asterisk next to his accomplishment.

Saquon would get the record in more games but with less carries than Dickerson.

27 year old Keyshawn and 27 year old Michael Irvin would of been screaming at the top of their lungs to play if they both had a chance at the single season receiving record.

Man I hope we go get this record. As an Eagle fan I’ve never seen this kind of running and o line blocking. Coach Stout needs his respect. I want people to look back some day and understand this coach was the master mind behind coaching and building the line we’ve always had. And to add the Modern Day Barry Sanders behind what it is currently the best offensive line in the NFL is insane. I say go for the record. It’s only 101 yards we can get that easily.

Coach Stout was Terrell Davis' O Line coach in Denver when he did it, this needs to happen. Period

Key who's goes into the game thinking negative. Stop with the what it's. Barkley should try for it & hopefully he can get it in the 1st 1/2 than rest him the rest of the game. Hurts should also play the 1st 1/2 to get back in the flow & rest him the rest of the game.

@ezekielmajor55112 күн бұрын
Agreed 100 man. The Giants players will be doing everything they can to hurt Barkley. Not worth the risk at all. I wouldn't play any starters this week. The playoff run and main goal is way more important. As a player in this situation, even Barkley should know this.

I agree with Paul on the "play or don't play at all." Statistically, setting the record will not necessarily increase your draft stock. Sure, it will get your name on the next EA 26 All-time records when you view it in-game. But, that's it. As an NFL coach looking on, do you want a player who is about himself and not the team? Did the receiver who got the yardage giving Ward the record sit the 2nd half too? Probaby not! The receiver played the rest of the game as part of the team. And playing sports i can tell you, Ward probably got a lot of looks on the sideline after he sat the 2nd half. And they weren't congratulatory.

I've seen teams play their top players in the last game only to have key players injured and lose in the playoffs; but then again I've seen teams take their foot off the gas and keep players off only to never be able to put their foot on the gas again in the playoffs.
