KEYSTONE RV SOLARFLEX 200 - Everything you need to know.

Keystone RV's Josh Miller & Jon Brock walk you through SolarFlex 200 and the expansion options for this system. Begining in the fall of 2022, EVERY Keystone RV now ships with SolarFlex 200 as standard, factory-installed equipment.
Out of the box, RVs equipped with SolarFlex 200 also have a Zamp side port. Owners can easily add a portable solar panel which is great for shady campsites because they can be positioned away from the RV to capture the maximum sun. Portable panels are also a great way to keep your battery charged when the camper is covered.
Core SolarFlex 200 components:
-- 200-watt Future Solutions solar panel, 30 amp roof port with MC4 locking connectors,
-- Zamp side port to add a portable panel,
-- 15 amp Victron Smart solar charge controller,
-- inverted loop pre-wired for up to seven outlets, and a smartphone app to monitor the system
Most base-level OEM solar power systems start with a 100-watt panel - sometimes smaller. It’s simply not enough. For the same price, Keystone is giving owners a base solar power package with a 200-watt Future Solutions solar panel which will fill a typical group 27 RV battery in one full day of peak sun.
While batteries aren’t included with the SolarFlex 200 system, it works perfectly with lead-acid, AGM, and Lithium. The SolarFlex 200 Quick Start Guide, found on the Keystone website shows you how to set up the charge controller whichever kind of batteries you add to the system.

Kwestone solar and inverter prep is a joke. They have the connections from the solar panels but no pre wire connection to the battery. Same with the inverter, it has a plave to wire the inverter to the outlets but nothing coming from the battery.

Hello, I have a new Cougar 23MLE with the 400 solaflex, I've always covered my units with a cover. Doing this however with solar would obviously be a mistake as the pannels could no longer catch the sun correct? That being said how can we protect our units from the elements now?

I assume would not run through current controller? and anyway deal with the reverse polarity with these connectors? kooking for a porable solar panel to use when dry camping and / or when covered. What is the typical cost for a solar install - batteries?

I have a 2022 Passport GT Series with the two solar Panels and we have 2 batteries. We unplugged from an RV site during a storm, then our tv shut and lights dimmed. Found the panel in the storage and it was beeping and blinking that battery was low. So how was it that with 2 solar panels and 2 batteries, we didn't have enough power for the TV? The Battery Disconnect was on. Do we have to do anything when we unplug from power /boondock?

Good morning, we are sorry to hear you’ve had issues with your unit’s solar system. There isn’t enough information provided here for us to be certain what is happening. Based on what you are noting, as long as there was sufficient sun, and stored energy, the batteries should be charged up even with the 200 system. There may be an issue somewhere in the line, however, we can’t be certain until you’ve confirmed the following and have this formally inspected. You’d want to see the status of the Victron App to see what power is coming in/going out, and we’d want to see that the batteries are testing good. If the controller and batteries are good, there should be enough power to keep the lights on. The TV wouldn’t work unless you purchased an aftermarket inverter for the inverted outlets. Not sure if you did that, as you don’t mention that here. The batteries and inverter are not included by Keystone RV. I would ask that maybe you report your findings and any further questions through our retail team at 1-866-425-4369 Monday - Friday with your VIN. We do have solar experts in our call center that can also answer questions and troubleshoot with you. Thank you.

Will a 200 watt panel produce enough energy/recharge if the unit is equipped with a 12v Everchill 10 cubic foot fridge? As delivered in your Springdale units?

Yes it should as 12v Everchill 10 ct is rated current: 20 amps max (240w) 2.5 amps maintaining temperature = 25w needed 8-9 amps chilling to temperature = 108w needed max

Me snd my wife just picked up our 2022 bulket premier with the silarflex 200 system. We also added a 100 amp hour dragonfly lithium battery. I asked the guy at the dealership if this system with that charge controller if it is bluetooth capable and he told me no. So im confused because you guys say it is BT capable with an app. So how do I connect to the app?

Good afternoon! It is Bluetooth capable. You would need to download the VictronConnect app from the app store (Apple) or the play store (Android). Open the app and connect via Bluetooth to your unit. Accept all firmware updates. Please note, sometimes it will not connect if you do not have your phone up to date or do not have your location services on. I purchased a used 2021 Arcadia 3660rl and it only has the roof ports. No solar panel or controller. I thought this was standard. Also where does the inverter get installed. Under the bed? That is were the breaker labeled Solar goes to the GFCI?

Good morning, the prep was standard, however, the controller and inverter would be purchased separately and added aftermarket. In your front compartment area, you should have labels where the wiring connects, and if you do not see it, then you'd just want to reach out to our retail team directly to provide your VIN to them so they can see your floor plant specifically. The nuts and bolts are fine but how do you operate the system? Switches to turn? Does the refrigerator operate off the truck? Will the Solar operate while driving and keep refrigerator operating? Our trailer is plugged in year-round in the storage building should solar be turned off?

Good Evening! You can find great tips on how to use the solar flex 200 by following the attached link to our website - www.keystonerv.com/solarflex-200-overview. The refrigerator would need an inverter to operate properly using the solar power which does not come with this package however, you can always add one on if you wish to use your refrigerator during travels. The solar will trickle charge the battery while driving and at any campsite. Also, if you are not using the unit we do recommend that you ensure the unit is fully unplugged with all solar turned off.

I have a 2022 Raptor 423 with SolarFlex 200. I want to upgrade to 1200i but would accept 600 if necessary. I called Keystone dealers in Wyoming and Rapid city area. Service seemed to think I was speaking Mandarin and forwarded me to parts who didn’t know anything. I am very capable of putting this in myself. I actually don’t trust an RV service dept to do it right. What do I need and where do I get it?

Good Morning! You would need to ensure the roofing is cleared of snow in order for the sunlight to be able to hit the panels on the roof.

Good Morning! If you are plugged into shore power you will be able to use the components inside the unit as the shore power will be charging your batteries. If you are needing to know what inverter size to purchase for boondocking, you can go onto www.keystonerv.com and search "solar", then scroll down to where you will see each of our packages that indicate what inverter size is needed for those. If you are wanting to upgrade your system completely we do recommend that you speak with your selling dealership on this so they may go over what you will need!

Might be a wise idea to note that any expansion panels connected to the zamp plug should have their own solar controller.

At the dealer they say you can add a panel. I doubt you can. You can only add the zamp panel that include a controller.

@@schwartz757 You can add a panel or array, but you have to understand the reversal of the SAE plug polarity and you must have a seperate solar controller. I have a rather nice little add on system now, but dealer comments "like you can add whatever you want" are misleading

Good Morning! If you are not using your unit and storing this you can certainly disconnect the battery unless you are wanting to keep some items inside the unit on.

@@KeystoneRVCompany When I store in between weekend trips, should I disconnect at the giggy box and leave solar on? To my knowledge, this is the only way to shut the Fridge off. When I do this, it also resets the leveling system. Is it ok to leave the giggy box connected and the fridge running in between trips during camping season? Does this shorten the life of the fridge?

Good Morning! If you are not using the unit we would recommend turning the battery disconnect and inverter disconnect off. This way no power will get to the solar or the unit itself! @@chriselton1915

Can you show the actual victron app for the controller not the battery. (BMV 700H is a battery monitor) How about a video on "if your solar is working correctly it should look like this". Don't give me an ad for what is installed, actually show how it works and better yet how to troubleshoot it.
