So I always hear that people catch limits of peanuts bc they say mahi grow at an astonishing rate so they are just that plentiful. Thank you for saying how delicate our fisheries are, and telling of how you just don’t see the bulls like you used to. I wish more people had your approach to fishing, and realized just how much we do impact the fisheries! Ps Mahi mahi are def one of the most beautiful fish in the sea! (And delicious!)

This is another fishery that has been poorly managed, it was the recreational fisherman that pushed to reduce limits from 10 to 5 fish per person.

yea it really is a bummer, I don't care how fast they grow when you put 50-60 in the boat every time you go, and kill countless other shorts in the process. The population is gonna suffer. Hopefully they bounce back.

What Madeline did with the chipotle & adobo sauce was fan-freaking-tastic! I’m going to try that! I wanted to share a little cooking hack that I like to do with that can of chipotle & adobo sauce - I dump the entire can into a bowl and purée everything - the chilis and the sauce and then use what I need for whatever recipe and poor the leftover sauce into a ziplock freezer bag and let it all settle along the bottom so that you can freeze it in the shape of tube and then break off whatever you want for the next couple of recipes. I use it for several recipes Beans, chili, marinade and a bunch of sauces and salsas - I love that can of chipotle & adobo sauce. That’s good stuff

Exciting video. I remember reading somewhere that “Coryphaena hippurus “ Mahi-Mahi or common dolphin fish seldom live for long 5 years. So a 20+ pound fish is four or less years of age. Thats tremendous growth rate. The large fish might be migrating ? Man I’m craving a blackened Mahi sandwich!
@KeyWestWaterman
@KeyWestWaterman Ай бұрын
yea they do grow extremely fast, I can't remember if I talked about it in this video. But I have in others, it could be something as simple as the migration changing. Because thats happened before with other species. All I know is I don't see as many for one reason or another.

New to the channel but I’ve gone back and watched a lot of videos from 2 years ago to presently, and the consistency, different content, and way it’s brought full circle CCC style Is just unmatched. really appreciate the kind words! keeps me going! just doing out best to enjoy life and share so positivity into the world. and to be honest, theres so many things I've learned but the first thing that comes to mind is that no matter what you do in life, how good your intentions are. Someone will always disagree with you, the way you do things, live your life, or even small things like how you butter your bread. and thats okay. Because of that and how much I get "judged" some days by people who don't actually know me. I've learned that I will never judge a pair of shoes I've never personally walked in, so to speak.

Awesome footage of the school of mahi!!! Recipe tweak; try corn tortillas instead of the flour, just need to soft fry them before making the tacos, it adds such great flavor and even fried it is healthier than flour tortillas, oil choice depending.
