RE: Samurai - Whenever you'd be hiring a 8-10 SS shooting model in this crew you're better off with Sidir or Fuhatsu since they both do a lot more damage for their points cost. Samurai tend to be better when you can either give them a time worn blade or "ride with me" them ... which is a big big reason you see them in McCabe lists all the time since you can do both in Wastrel. RE: Serpent - he's just way way too many points to consider when for the same cost you can hire variety of models that punch much much harder or are just better within the eco system of the crew. I really wish that model was 1-2 points less ... it'd see a lot more competitive play.

Video idea: competitive henchmen as leaders (Hinamatsu/Widow Weaver etc). Why would you play them that way and what do you include with them?

Hey guys, I sooo appreciate this. This helps people like me (not really beginner any more who needs advice on what a soulstone is, but by far no tournament playing pro) tremendously! Couple of questions though: - Would you really let your list stand at 14 SS left? I normaly go 4-5 so I would definitively add... something ;-) Perhaps even the Lone Swordsman even though you kinda described him as an alternative to Fuhatsu - Any reason why you do not mention Hucksters or Sidir OOK but not stuff like Desper (which I find quite good for scheming...)? - Also I read one of your answers on the Samurai and the Dawn Serpent and was a little thrown off. They get recommended to me a lot, both of them, and now I read they do not do enough for their points... Can you elaborate a little more on that? Thank you!!

1) We agree 14 SS is a TON ... normally u want 4-7ish 2) Hucksters are really card hungry esp when not in their wastrel keyword (both keeping them alive as well as hitting the TNs) and this is a keyword where u want ur high cards aimed at your opp.s face ... they've also gotten a bit worse in GG3 compared to GG2 3) Samurai is a lot of points for a beater model that doesn't synergize with the crew itself ... for example, it's much worse than Bill or Hinamatsu and in the case where u want another beater just hire Lone Swordsman (like u mention as well) ... if your goal is to shoot things then hire Sidir or Fuhastu. Samurai is good in Wastrel BC u can "ride with me" him up the board for free movement and give him a light saber ... he starts falling off when not in that keyword (for a 9 pt model). 4) Dawn Serpent is really overpriced for what it does and can die VERY very quickly since it's an enforcer (no SS use to keep him alive) for 5 DF (HtK is good but not enough to keep this boi alive).

also - flame wheel is just plain better than dawn serpent ... so in cases where u want that style model just hire a wheel since it can run through models and cause splash damage as it does so. DS needs to be IN combat to be using its min3 stat6 which is not what u wanna be doing with that model really both since it's very fragile and BC u need some models scoring points ... it should be scheming for u ... not fighting, that's Bill's and Hinamatsu's job.

are all the masters getting revisited for the GG4 + Ashes releases? I feel like Youko 1 is better in the higher AP demand / less killy GG4 strategies.

Our plan is to do 1-3 update videos where we cover the GG changes + model updates + new models in batches. You'll likely see those after we finish our GT this July and have launched our 2024 narrative league. Around October // Nov timeframe is when those videos would be dropping likely.

Dudes! The only things in keyword (that are optional) are bill and kunoichi? All other keywords are counter or never hires. This reads as a mandatory master and totem…. Then a bunch of versatiles or out of keyword. call it what it is - a rubbish keyword crew.
