Yes that was young Rocky, in KGF 1 her mother took a promise from him that he shall die rich and powerful when her mother was about to die so this dialogue at last I think is related to that reference , a similar reference was also given in KGF 2 teaser by a dialogue which says " A promise was once made and that promise will be kept"

Now as you are praising the editing and the dope visuals you might think the budget became huge... in fact for Indians the budget of this film is big, not huge. The budget of KGF chapter 1 was approx. US$ 10.6 million, but for the chapter 2 it is just 25% of increase from prequel's budget, i.e., approx. US$ 13.3 million, which is a very low budget for any Hollywood film to make a KGF range of film. With that much budget also to make such an impactful and visual spectacle film... can be done only out of an maverick vision and hardcore passion and determination.
