Jojo Crazy Cat nah don't go Henry AR style either. You want a 17-22 mag go with the chiappa little badger. It's a break barrel with a 2lbs trigger while weighing 5lbs before a red dot and runs for $198 on every website. Picked up my 17hmr for $220 with a case of 50 rim fire CCI tnt hollow points. A Henry AR survival rifle in 22 will run you far more than that. I invested a total of $280 with a red dot and all my ammo and the thing shoots 350yrds easy as hell with no trigger finger fatigue.

Mr FNH I thought about that, or just ponying up for the Kidd 10/22 bolt. It has all the bells and whistles. Decisions decisions...

Chad Sims Beautiful rig btw sir. I didn’t know Kidd made a stand alone bolt for the 10-22. I haven’t done a whole lot to my 10-22 besides shoot it & change the claw, pin & trigger group out. Although I did get a Davidson’s exclusive Takedown model with Williams sights & a 16” threaded barrel to begin with. I shoot it suppressed quite a bit. I did have a handmade nylon bolt buffer I made from a bolt I bought at the hardware store. But, cold weather shooting finally killed it after 10,000 plus rounds while using it. I’ve got a video showing it off on my channel if you get really bored. Lol. Thanks for bringing us along with you on this awesome adventure.

Mr FNH Very nice. Kidd makes a great bolt buffer, it’s basically a rubber tube with a stainless steel pin in the middle. They are a must have a suppressed 10/22, makes the action much quieter at the ear.

Outstanding 10/22 build. I'm taking note of these parts and some mentioned here in the comments. This is a great resource. My dream 10/22 would be very similar. I think I'd build mine as a braced pistol (Ruger Charger), with the integrally suppressed barrel around 9-11" (4-4.5" barrel length), just a little longer than the handguard. Then I'd put on a folding stock. The result would be more compact and lighter. Better for transport and carrying in a backpack. I'd also avail myself of aftermarket parts to make it lighter, more reliable, and quieter. And I'd also aspire to make a matching 96/22 lever-action which as a manual action is even quieter than the 10/22. I'd rather have a pump-action, but the 96/22 takes 10/22 mags including the BX-25 and there's nothing like it among pump-actions. Maybe I can get a .22LR version of one of the pump-action AR-15s, but I expect it would be heavier and bulkier than a Ruger. With a pistol-length takedown barrel and a folding stock, a 10/22 will pack down to the size of a large handgun. And potentially to a similar weight as well.

sweet stuff, just got me a decent deal on a used 10/22 from a family member, has been in family ever since its been bought new and went through three of em. They have never taken the bolt out before to detail clean it or anything thing and you could tell but it never had any issues. I shot about 200 through it before I decided to buy it my self :P. It's an older 235 series, so a 1992/93 year. Already ordered me a extended mag release and auto bolt. Though I turned around and ordered a bx trigger before I cleaned it and cause it the trigger felt grimy. It's not now after I cleaned it but atleast I've got a back up trigger :P
