It's more than likely modeled for the single cutscene that takes place here. The room seems too small for sora to actually run around in or anything. And what would you even do in this castle? It's too small for a fight, but also, the palace is basically a few stairways and halls and 2 rooms in the movie. I don't think anything like treasure could be here (although, they could have put the cast inside this ice castle instead of setting them in a single place on the top of an ice cold mountain.....)

I see all the comments disappointed (which I completely understand, I am too) and angry at Square. Ya'll, Disney is to fucking blame for any missed opportunities. They held tight reigns on Square over these worlds (especially Frozen, Tangled, and Big Hero 6 I believe). I'm sure if they had total freedom we would've probably gotten even better worlds. I'm not saying the worlds aren't fun, they are. It's just they probably would have been even better with total freedom.

It didn't have to be a shit world. Disney probably made it that way by being controlling over their property. The problem with KH3, is that every title they used in this game are all connected to their respective creators who are still alive today, and the final decisions of what happens in these worlds, are then mostly up to them since it's literally THEIR property and it's on their terms. It's unfortunate and Disney is annoying but, idk.. it is what it is.

Michael Flynn is this actually confirmed? I keep hearing that Disney was stricter on this world. Not that I don’t believe it. But it doesn’t make sense to me. The logic is that Disney didn’t want SE to “stain”/“bastardize” or “alter” the Frozen property. Yet, they gave an ok to the labyrinth...? KH is a Disney property in the end (and of course they have the final say on how their properties get portrayed) but it’s SE who develops the game. You really think Disney would be against exploring the ice castle? It’s shown in the movie... Because the whole “FF/original characters are shafted, therefore it’s clearly Disney’s fault” argument doesn’t add up when Disney worlds themselves have cut content left and right (examples on the top of my head are the Olympus coliseum and this world). Maybe SE are the incompetent ones? It’s not like it’s the first time it’s happened to one of their AAA titles (FFXV)...

I just don't fucking understand. the ice palace, arandelle, arandelle castle, the winter shop with the german fellas, the troll gathering place,... all these iconic places from the movie aren't visitable. meanwhile, we walk through an ice maze that isn't disney canon built by larxene and non-descript ice mountains for 2 hours. I don't know if this is nomura being lazy, disney being extremely strict with their most prominent cash cow, or both, but either way, WHAT. THE.
