I watched the Chavez vs Taylor fight live back in 1990, and it was the first (and probably only) time I saw a fight stopped with 2 seconds left in the 12th round of a title fight. As you stated, the ref isn't thinking clock, he's supposed to be thinking of the fighter.

We wouldn't be reading our comments about this right now if no one cared, so there are at least three people on Earth that care enough to comment. As for string instead of velcro, there are several reasons, but I feel the most important reason is the fit it lets the boxer get with his gloves. It's more customizable to each fighter, which provides more stability for the wrist, making it safer to fight. Let's see if there are 5 people on this planet that care!

Absolutely no reason to stop that fight. There were barely more than 30 seconds left and the kid wasn’t in any trouble at all. Sure, Broner was going to win the decision but somebody had money on a KO.

Time left in the round makes no difference whatsoever. A punch takes a lot less than 30 seconds. Where did this myth come from??? It's about if the fighter is safe to continue or seriously hurt. Fighters have been knocked out at the end of rounds and fights before. Doesn't matter. The ref knows that, but you (not being a ref) clearly don't...Fancy that...

this is old but this is also what pisses me off about AB....he's hella fast! He's got power, tools, etc...but he is WAY TOO COCKY!! Most if not all his losses come from him being too confident in himself, and taking it easy in the ring, only to get caught by punches he should be fast enough to avoid and counter.
