I am an American from Arizona (Gaethje’s hometown). I used to fight/train at 155 lbs and Justin is someone I look up to, being from the same state and weight class. I think he's a cool guy. I'm not a fan of his fighting style though. It pisses me off how effective it is, but how dull it is to watch. His fans are a bit suspect too. Not all of them obviously, but a very vocal minority at least.

I think he didn’t let his body recover correctly and he paid the price against Justin. Once he got back home he couldn’t leave so the UFC was already making a back up plan and having Justin train. Imagine if he decided to stay here in the states and he never got to see his dads last moments cause of the travel ban.
