I've grappled with this 4 foot 10 blue belt guy who weighs like 50kg (I weigh 78kg) but drilling and rolling with him, I realised how important positioning was in actually applying your weight in grappling. This guy legitimately had better top pressure than many guys I've grappled who were 90kg plus, because he understood his biomechanics and how to place his weight correctly in different positions to be effective in control and transitions. People calling khabib a weight bully are completely ignoring how beautiful his grappling skill truly is so stupid and deductive
@deskdraws47226 ай бұрын
Now imagine the 50kg guy in your story to be heavier than you but is still able to maintain his skill. Khabib’s skill is unquestionable, but for him to cut so much weight for that added advantage is why he’s often called out for being a weight bully.

Khabib is the best. Even the likes of jon jones and Demetrius Johnson don't do this. They usually have actual fights or even dog fights or close treat fights but just out perform their opponent. Other fighters: you turn your mma on and i turn mine on and i bet mine will be better. Khabib: im gonna turn your mma off and unleash my mma and lets see how you deal with that. Different threat 😂

Great video ! Thanks! In the style of karate i practice ( called Ji sei do/Tokitsu-ryu) one of the main important factors are tensegrity, musculoskeletal architecture, and neuromuscular improvement for better use of the body's levers (especially the deep muscles of the back and trunk). This is why my teacher is over 70 years old and he is extremely agile and explosive because he does not rely on his athleticism but on the fact of properly positioning and using his body in all three dimensions. Of course on any question of endurance and sporting combat he would be surpassed by a young person. In karate, weapons are also used which is why a 70 year old person could still face a young person if the context means that athleticism would be less important such as an armed fight or a fight without rules. All this can only be true if the basis of the martial art and body usage cited above is respected! Thank you again for this fascinating video!

How did he do it? Look at the win/loss record of his opponents, compare that to Jon Jones, GSP, Silva etc. Explanation is easy. His opponents weren't at the same level as the others I just mentioned. Jones Opponents w/l: 417:171 GSP : 494:71 Khabib : 294:114 Not even close. Nice video, and Khabib was truly great, but the simplest explanation is best.
@BigBirdMMA6 ай бұрын
he’s referencing the biomechanics not whether khabib is the goat or not
@randomuser63066 ай бұрын
@@BigBirdMMA he asked the question 'how did he achieve a zero loss record' and then talked about biomechanics, as of those are exclusively available to Khabib. I'm saying a simpler explanation is better - he fought guys weren't as good as the other top tier champs did. Simple.

Bro, you’re acting like Khabib only fought some low level ufc fighters. You must know that Khabib was a champion before he did mma and this was with all those wrestlers/sambo fighters from Russia. When Khabib was asked why Russian fighters are so dominant, he said: we do like 300 amateur fight before going pro, but in the US someone can go pro after 10 fights. So Khabib has an whole career, both amateur and pro, before he signed at ufc.
@Amansvista5 ай бұрын
@@ferfer582 his first 15 fights were binmen. he was a lot bigger than everybody else which is why his fight frequency was so low the only time he fought more than twice year was at welter weight against overmatched opponents, he tried 3 times once at lightweight in the ufc and missed weight and finished up a once a year fighter so nothing you said changes the facts. Tibau matched him for size and skills and khabib could do nothing against him, everything I have said above bolsters my point, he relied on being overmatched or oversized.
