Wonderful lecture mashaAllah. I also totally agree with Khadija RA being younger than 30 at the time of marriage; she's even 25 according to some narrations.

Shaykh, At 27:42 you say Allah prohibited adoption? Can you be more explicit about this?
@maaby9008
@maaby9008 6 жыл бұрын
Mukaram Syed “Tabarujj” this is when you claim that the adopted child is yours by blood and this is what’s haram. This is what the prophet pbuh did with zubayr and Allah prohibited it. However adoption otherwise is halal Insha Allah.

That's my point. Shaykh wasn't clear and this maybe interpreted incorrectly.

Does it bother you that the previous prophets like Sulaiman (as) and Ibrahim (as) had children from slave girls? i.e ismael (as) from Haga (ra) If not then this shouldn't either. P.S the woman your referring to also agreed and gave consent and so did all his other wives (ra) so if you look at in context you should realise it wasn't something weird back then like it is now in our time. :)

Sister from all the lectuers I've heard about sirah of the prophet saw Maria the slave girl was given the choice to be his wife.she chose not to be his wife and chose to stay as a slave. The norms of those times was very diffrent then our time. Slavery was common all over the world. And in fact the slaves had no right.islam gave them rights. Having many wifes and concubine was also a common practice.But islam changed all that and made it lawfull to only have 4 wifes with conditions attacked to it.in the rest of the world women had no rights what so ever. Look back at when women rights came. It wasn't long a go.its important to study islamic history and world history not seen from the western point of view. The west only teach you europe and America's history. Our prophet was the best human created. He was the prophet of Mercey and non like him.The perfect leader.perfect huseband.perfect father.perfect friend.study him and you'll fall in love with all what he represents.If men in our time were like him we would have a peaceful life.He is even admired by his enemies

As an outsider trying to learn more things about the world, 10 minutes in all that has been talked about is lineage and I cannot continue listening to this, can someone explain to me, a non religious person what is the significance of all these people any why does it matter? Why not just go to the message about the prophet's first wife?

after he's done with the lineage he starts talking about her life. you could forward it a bit. its a really beautiful talk.

+Kidney Thief I can understand why you wouldn't care about the lineage. But many muslims know the lineage of the Quraysh (the tribe of the Prophet Muhammad) so it's interesting to see how the people of quraysh are related to one another.

To fully understand the message one has to understand the context, and this applies to all the Prophets.
@irfand4

People in the East sp Arabs take great pride in lineage. Family background and tribe/family name lends great honour and credibility in our part of the world. Mentioning lineage is traditional and a norm when talking about any august person. Every person mentioned above has played a very significant role in the history of Islam. Hence retrospectively the speaker is linking the people so that one can relate better. (Muslims and researchers understand this significance)
@maaby9008
@maaby9008 6 жыл бұрын
Kidney Thief the Lineage is very important not because that’s how we would value them or should, but because that’s how people back then valued others. Since this is talking about the time of the prophet it is important that lineage is discussed so that we may understand the context and how Khadijah was viewed and held in society. Also to advanced students they can link different people who were alive at the time of the prophet to the same lineage and make connections to further their understanding and knowledge. There’s a whole science in Islam a rare one just based on lineage. There’s a lot to learn from it for good reasons of course.
