When Trisha said she is hungry, how VJS went to take food, the way he shows comfort by turning the spoon to her side, giving her tissue paper to wipe etc., these are small small courtesy comforts a woman(present day or past day irrespectively) expects from a man. It is not that the woman is not able to do these tasks so she expects the man to do. Men should understand, shed their ego and think how he can please his girl friend or wife. This film is an epic. In the past, this role could have been done by Kamal, Raghuvaran or Karthik. Because they have done many ilavu katha kili roles.

Tamil technicians are one of the best in the world. the direction, DOP,BG is so perfect.. I have watched this scene many many times.. sorry to say, I am a kannadiga, unfortunately I tried watching the kannada version 99 just now. I couldn't stand it for 10mns. its so bad. I came back to watch 96 again just to erase my memories of kannada version. We have to learn a lot from Tamil industry.
