My kids used to attend an after school program (CDC) when we were stationed Heidelberg, Germany. I remember Khalid and some other boys putting on a talent show and singing some boy band songs for the staff and parents. He must have been in the 3rd or 4th grade at the time. His mom was also a very talented singer. Good memories.

Despite the heartbreak caused by the senseless mass shooting, I was really proud to see how the city came together. Khalid has shown that he has not forgotten about his roots and is eager to give back to the community that helped shape him. He is a really good kid.
