I was in Sri Lanka back in May of this year with my wife who is a Sri Lankan Tamil born in Malaysia. My father in law was born in Jaffna in 1934 and came to Malaysia when he was 12. I always heard stories of Sri Lanka and my wife had always wanted to visit her homeland. I stayed at the Galle Face Hotel and visited places around the city. I must say I felt safe people were friendly and the FOOD is unbelievable. I visited the temple in Kandy and of course had breakfast at Bake House. Then there was the trip to Galle and I must say I LOVE SRI LANKA. I am coming back. Despite the economic setbacks people are resilient and they are so friendly and polite. I will never forget the dhal curry, string hopper, different sambols, karawala, umbalakada sambol etc. I can eat this food everyday if possible and I just love the flavors. Next trip is to take the train up north.

I am a Sri Lanka and now I live in UAE Also my grandparents live in Sri Lanka they went to Colombo for the Rajapakse case In 2004 our country was in a disaster tsunami my dad lived in Galle but after the tsunami, he went to Hikkaduwa but I didn't get hit in the tsunami because I lived in Badulla I was born in 2016 so I didn't know the tsunami but when I came back to Sri Lanka in 7 of December 2022 my dad told me about the tsunami and I realized it was after Christmas because the tsunami was on 26 December 2004 it hit states like colombo galle Hikkaduwa Jaffna and more and countries like India Somalia Indonesia Sri Lanka Bangladesh Myanmar Thailand Malaysia Kenya Maldives Madagascar Tanzania South Africa Seychelles in 2020 we got covid that made me to wear a mask and the country shut down for a long time in 2021 we have a terrorist bombing attack last year Rajapakse made the country bankrupt and now me and my mom and my dad and my sister all live in UAE all the day i always not together but sri lanka is together the lino rock is where ravaana place and where ravaana dead body is the challanges our country went true always when a country his be coming bad with teamwork you can make the country better and stronger then ever. always with teamwork you can make it bigger better stronger
