Maia fight got scrapped for whatever reason. Wonderboy hasn't fought since November and is 2-3 in his last 5, this is a perfect fight for him but he knows the potential to lose is there. Dana called him one of the most special fighters he has ever seen, Whittaker (jokingly) said he wants him to stay at welterweight. Chiesa said he's beatable but acknowledged he's the real deal. Even Abdelaziz has tweeted they have had numerous people turn down a fight with him. Khamzat is a PROBLEM

He reminds me of something Vin Diesel said in the first Fast and Furious movie. I live my life a quarter mile at a time. Chimaev lives his life 1 fight at a time. I think he is fresh air for the UFC - and so far he has done everything and more what you can ask of a debutant in those fights he has been given. All hype isnt the right words, i see him as an upcoming interesting prospect who has great potential - as all fighting fans should do =) Hype is good because it brings attention and interest to our sport, i think you are like me, we dont wanna see the same fighters fight eacother all the time. New fighters (hyped or not) means evolution and is developing the fight game. Look at the MW and WW top 15. Those guys are left, the rest are either abroad, injured or scheduled to fight. According to what Dana said at a presser he is to be fighting a ranked fighter so that's a top 15 and will be at apex. Initially it was 19 or 29th November but now Khamzat has said they looking to book him for December 19 which may open things up in terms of who he may be fighting since two of the guys I mentioned already turned him down.
