Because he's a clever teacher, ha ha. As it's a common psychological teaching method to repeat sentences, so that they stick in the students mind. Advertising and music often uses some of these techniques in order to keep their product or song in the mind of the consumer. Have a good day! :)

Thank God for Khan Academy. It is about time to bring back free education! Our founding fathers wanted everyone to be educated. This is one of the main reason to live. We educated our selves since the day we are born. It is a never stopping thing we do. It is so fun! I really enjoy listen to Khan Academy.

***** Life is about right and wrong. If we don't do the right thing we are doing the wrong thing! That is what all really great great leaders in including Jesus as well as others to long to mention want us to do... not only for our selves but others. If we don't learn to share this world. Then there will be war with out end! It does not matter what you believe! The truth is the truth! The sun will rise tomorrow!

***** That is the problem. People believe they can do anything to others. With out a consequence of any type. Then they justify one more step in their own opinion or direction... saying its ok. Where does it end? Life is right and wrong in more than one way. You either live with values or you don't. Sound black and white as you said. Look at those who try to make there own and fail in there lives.

I don't like the whole bit about the atmosphere absorbing more of the winter sun. Yes it is true especially for UV rays, but the real reason a low sun angle leads to less heating is that the same amount of energy gets spread out over a larger surface area when it hits the ground. The effect of a thicker diagonal column of air absorbing more energy doesn't explain seasonal variations!

From your previous video you said: Currently, Aphelion = Northern Hemisphere summer and Perihelion = N. Hemisphere winter Does that mean since summer in the northern hemisphere is occuring when the Earth is further from the Sun. Does that mean northern hemisphere summers are not as hot as southern hemisphere summers because of the 3% eccentricity in the orbit? Thanks :D
@OmegaGenesisTrueEarth
@OmegaGenesisTrueEarth 2 жыл бұрын
No, they will not address that because it destroys their model. Nothing about the southern hemisphere is equal to the northern when it comes to the climate even though it should be in the Globe lie paradigm!

It is due to the tilt again. In summer the sun is directly over-head, sun rays are falling pretty much perpendicular onto the earth surface. In winter this angle is sharper, the rays have to travel farther through the atmosphere (more adsorption and scattering etc.) for one thing. Also if you draw a diagram of earth and the sun, one with perpendicular and another with a sharper angle of insolation you will see that less energy falls onto a given surface area with a sharper angle of insolation.

Mr Khan, I was watching the this video about earth's tilt causing the seasons. It certainly explains why the duration of night time and day time during summer and winter is different (the reason being axis of rotation is tilted) But, I did not understand one thing. All points on earth except the pole (south or north) points get sunlight at least for some time in a 24 hr cycle but the temperature (light energy) during those times are different in different season. For example, consider NYC.

This is a great explanation. The only problem i had was that he kept saying "...tilted away from the earth..." when he should have said "..tilted away from the sun...". Anyways, i saw past that and i got the concept so thanks much.

It may be facing the sun, but Summer and Winter in New York occur during different periods in the earths orbit. So although both are facing the sun in Winter NYC is tilted away from the sun resulting in less energy.

(read the below comment first)NYC gets sunlight both during winter and summer but the temperature during day time in winter is a lot less than that during summer. Temperature is a measure of energy which would mean that energy NYC receives during day time in winter is a lot less than it receives during day time in summer. Why this is so? If NYC is facing the sun (as diagram showed) during daytime both in summer and winter, why should energy it receives be different? This part I don't understand

I think your explanation towards the end is wrong. It is not cooler because the sun light gets absorbed more by passing through more air / atmosphere. The reason it is colder is because due to the tilt, less projected surface is exposed to the sun. That is, with sun right above / at 90 degrees, you get most, and with more inclanation / less projected surface relative to the sun, you get less energy from the sum per surface area and that is what happens in winter.

The Northern hemisphere is mostly land. land doesn't retain the suns energy like water does. The Southern Hemisphere which is mostly water will point towards teh sun when the axis is pointing at the Vega star again in 26000 yrs. The Northern hemisphere is also Mostly Frozen Co2 which is thawing the more the axis gets closere t oit's 24.5 degrees maximum. The Earths Climate Cycle is Glacial Tropical due to the change in the Tilt of the Axis of the Earth. Northern hemisphere towards the sun when the Polaris star is the north star and away from the sun when the vega star is the north star.

The "tilt" of Earth's axis is a hoax. If it's true, then how can you explain the North star Polaris never changing it's degrees besides from the regular spin of Earth's day and night rotation. It's this tilt theory was correct then wouldn't Polaris be 23.whatever degrees away on December 21st, than from it's original spot on June 21st? I believe the seasons are caused by something else.

A lot of time wasted on explaining a concept that ignores our senses and actual data. If you believe this as truth, then it means you have to accept a fantasy instead of reality. Could save us all a lot of time and brain cells if we just accept the fact that the closer the sun is, the hotter it gets. The model Khan has presented denies this. It denies something so utterly fundamental when this model insists that the proximity of Earth doesn't matter for temperature or seasons, but just the angle of earth's axis. How does this make sense? Seriously. How does anyone believe that earth's proximity to the sun doesn't effect its temperature. Yet Mars is cooler than earth because it's farther away, but earth doesn't follow that universal law, bc it's not distance, but angle, that effects temperature...
@gregorysoutherland6911
@gregorysoutherland6911 5 жыл бұрын
well, we *_could_* have accepted that the earth gets closer but then we'd be wrong cause that's not how it works if it gets closer explain how summer is in december in the southern hemisphere and how december is winter in the northern hemisphere what are you a flat earther? also, on mars, mars doesnt have a tilted orbit, and it doesnt have seasons, your example is invalid
