One reason why the American War for Independence was fought when it was: Metacom's War wrecked the local economy of all of New England to the point that it was at about the era of the beginning of the American War for Independence that the economy had begun to truly recover.

My vote goes for the Native Americans. Too much similarity of today, which is sad

It was also limited to the religion endorsed by the colony's government alone that had any say at all.

If you have a situation with a high death-rate, you're highly unlikely to knowingly bring your wife and children into that area, especially if you're working in that area- especially in those days, with a culture of chivalry being more ingrained into people's mindset, due to time alone.

One of the most outstanding sources of learning I ever had about King Philip's War is a boardgame I played once at a wargaming club in about Central Ct one night. The fellow who came up with the idea of employing Amerindians to wage the war was a man by the name of Benjamin Bishop, who actually was a Protestant Minister, and possibly a bishop in their faith- he revolutionized how the British fought that war completely. Before playing that game I had no idea about him or anything really about that war.

You mean Benjamin Church. There is a Benjamin Bishop listed as a soldier in Hull’s book but he wasn’t even an officer.

well, it's really what type of native you talk to, some find it fine to call us Indians, some people prefer native, or indigenous, I personally prefer native, but it's really preference of the person you talk to

@@elinikolai7493yep that's true. It's just that there's been such a wave of Progressive narratives that are very predictable and not focused on truth but political change. That's better for some people than the long era of eurocentric bias and sense of supremacy... I'd just like it to be motivated with as truthful and inclusive an accounting of history as possible. That's the aim, but of course it will fall short in many respects, it's open minded and open hearted pursuit of truth as best as it can be attained.
