When I listen to this, I can only think about how foreshadows everything that as transpired in Middle-East today and also, if Hussein was sincere, how this region would've been much more peaceful and stable if not ruined the greed of my own people...

You should read Gertrude Bell Queen of the Desert for more insight into this, and how the lands were cut up.

She wasn't involved in negotiations, nor was she ever consulted despite having far more insight into the region than either Mark Sykes or TE Lawrence. She was after all, a female in a man's world, and a spy. While we often quote the P-S Agreement and the Balfour Declaration as the beginning of everyone's woes, it is unlikely that the Arabs would ever have reunited without a Western alliance involved because their societies are tribal and aren't culturally equipped that way.

i would like to add that saudis dynasty ruled hijaz regions in their first and second states (correctly we’re in the third state) before the ottomans made Hassan bin Ali the sherif of mecca, u made it look like saudi came out of nowhere and “conquered Hijaz” which is not true at all, Hasan bun Ali only ruled for 8 years but saudis ruled for much longer in their previous states, not to mention the fact this region is usually ruled by the arab tribes in arabia (As in the Umayyad and Abassid states and Saudi Arabia), and not by the ottomans who conquers it and put on of their puppets from levant as a sherif for only 8 years who later decided to revolt, but saudis were fighting there to get their land back for the THIRD time, pls be accurate giving ur information i expected better.

@faheemkhalid4359

they are different in races but same in religion. arabs are the race of the people in middle east and islam as a religion. while ottoman is a islam empire which include several countries from istanbul to middle east. before the ww1, arabs are in the ottoman empire. anybody feel free to correct me if im wrong.
@missdoojy

Faheem Khalid Turkey and Istanbul are considered part of the Middle east as well. Being Arab is about race, language, culture all Middle eastern countries are Arab except for Turkey and Iran. Ottomans are Turks they are different religion, language and culture, they ruled from Istanbul and included Arabian land to their empire.

soo many complicated things!! but very well explained! :) ugh when was it that Middle east was at peace I think there are more wars between the monotheistic religions than the non-monotheistic ones >.> for God's sake there's only one God! and no amount of land, people or anything matter but your internal WILL and BELIEF

Important to remember: There was never a culture or a country called Palestine. Arafat was born in Cairo Eygpt. There is only one Jewish state - but there are many Arab/Islamic states; Israel is a democracy and has Muslim/Arabs in their Knesset; There are no churches or synagogues in Arabia; Jews may not touch Arab soil,.....etc, etc,....GOD BLESS ISRAEL

Not really, it wasn't always Islamic. You see, time existed even before Islam came to be! I know this is too shocking for you to believe, but trust me on this one! By the way, take a look at your so-called Islamic countries that exist today, then back to secular countries, then back to Islamic countries. Don't you see a pattern? Secularism works; theocracy sucks. And LOL, "my" democracy? I'm middle eastern, just like you.
