This is the best explanation for a solenoid and can be used to understand: (i)why solenoid is needed? (ii)what actually happen when a single ring is added? (iii)why a large number of rings needed to be added? (iv)finally, why is the solenoid made the way it is? (v)what the hell is electromagnet? (vi)advantages with solenoid rather than a bar magnet. (vii)disadvantages. (viii)its uses. (ix)what is soft iron and how can it be used with a solenoid? (x)why only soft iron and not the other iron is used in it? BONUS-for teachers:(xi)how to do humour while teaching.
