Sir I have a doubt. If we look the wave fromed in water, from a direct above view it appears to be a longitudinal wave, and if we view it through the plane which contains the water, waves appear to be transverse.. What is actually happening?....

A longitudinal wave is 3d, and can propagate through a single medium. A longitudinal wave appears always at the interface of two medium, and requires the original medium to be able to mechanically draw back the medium as it travels into se second medium, or, have some other force like gravity pull it down.
