at 10:58, if it has a slower velocity and speed, shouldn't it take a different time, thus the statement in the video false?
@the__saksham3 жыл бұрын
no the velocity maybe different, the the time is same. when the endpoint of wavefront touches surface in time 't' then the wavelet produced from the first point will propagate in that time t.

I saw a video on Fermilab which basically says that you can't use Huugen's princple to determine the correct path of light through the second medium because you can align the wave fronts in *several ways* in the second medium, only one of which agrees with experimentation. To understand and derive Snell's law correctly, it looks to me like it is necessary to deduce this law from Maxwell's equations.

Light is not really slowing down if it enters an optical denser medium like water but it's the interiaction with the medium which is called group velocity is less than its normal velocity called the phase velocity.

DOES THE INTERFACE ACT AS A HUYGEN SOURCE OR IS IT THE INCIDENT WAVEFRONT WHICH ACTS A HUYGEN SOURCE...PLZ EXAPLAIN🙏🙏🙏

I believe it is the wavefront since the secondary waves originate on the wavefronts emitted by a luminous object.

@someones24132 жыл бұрын
because they are travelling at the same time, one is just further. We are taking a set time frame and saying that one travelled with a distance of v1t and other with v2t
