I REALLY want a MK game that doesn't include multiverse elements and is all about a tournament. They had a golden opportunity with the great Kung Lao ending in MK11.

Going back to its Midway roots is probably the best way for MK's story to move forward. The Midway era just had the best character and plot progression in the franchise, and the worst part is that they had the ability to do that following MK9. Mk9 set the stage for a great remix of all classic events, which they did pretty well with MKX. Why they chose to go in the direction of MK11 and 1 is baffling.

Now I literally don't know what to expect for MK 13/2. Anything could happen. Backstory changes, characters combined into one, gender changes, alignment changes. Even if it's cool they are bringing 3d era characters back, they have changed so much it's like they are not the same from back then

I agree with you, my friend. I'm hoping with the negative feedback they've been getting for this game's story that they'll fix things for the next one. I really want Darrius, Hotaru, and Kobra back on the main roster, and I may do a series of videos where I talk about how I would redesign them to make them better than their original iterations. They really butchered Havik in this game, and I don't want something like that happening again.

Multiverses don't work because they're tied to the same rules as the dragon balls any character can die and we can bring them back making death more like a time out corner than an actual story beat

Death in Mortal Kombat is something characters could come back from before (Bi Han turning into Noob Saibot and Zombie Liu Kang); however, it always came at a cost. Something of their soul would be lost in the process, and I liked this trade off. There were stakes that mattered more than life or death, as the eternal souls of the characters were at risk.

@@therayldeal6683 absolutely sindel for example sacrificed her life to make sure shao Kahn couldn't invade earth realm. The cost of that wasn't just her death but her body was then used to aid shoa Kahn the last thing she wanted so much to the point of ending her own life to stop it.

Emperor Rain said that the transformation of his world was the work of an instant. Titan Havik had plenty of time to transform Liu Kang's world, he tries twice, but fails. Maybe because Geras was rescued before he perish. But Havik's plan simply didn't work...

I don’t really care that they switched their genders, this isn’t the original world anymore. However. Liu Kang recreates reality and even includes Shao Khan, he’s just been demoted. But Cyrax and Sektor, for reasons known only to himself, he decided to swap out their bits. And it’s not the first time he’s done it, I believe Bo Rai Cho was swapped as well. It begs questions.

I gotta say sektor isn't sektor since his gender makes the character different. If sektor was a man then bi han wouldn't be involved with him, so to me she's not my sektor

Changing something like that definitely makes her a different character from traditional Sektor. I personally would have preferred if both her and Cyrax were just new characters, like if NRS started making female cyber ninjas to complement the Red, Yellow, Blue, and Black ones we already have.
