Tips - The entirety of tree cove is meant for building a base at such a depth. as nearly all resources can be found nearby with no/few hostile enemies and great access to thermal vents. - The most effective way to travel quickly via prawn is by using the grappling arm to gain great horizontal movement and then releasing and jumping just before reaching the end of your grapple line. - Not that you'd ever want to kill anything, but the drill arm does less damage than the base prawn arm. - Instead of building foundations, reinforcements can be built onto your interior walls to increase integrity. - Be careful taking your prawn indoors, in alien bases in particular, as it can get you or the suit stuck due to being a tad glitchy. - Releasing hostile species near your base may not be the best idea. * Be wary of the loss of animations, this can be a sign that things are only going to get worse (more glitchy), though it could also be a one-off glitch. @@JoshuaRichards2010 Could be, but animations are on most entry/exit hatches, and to have them disappear or skip is often a bad thing. As a different comment mentioned, the lack of animations can be a result of having too many base pieces to keep loaded causing strain on the game. In my own personal experience with the game, the loss of animations usually means that you may want to slow it down before you break everything XD

1- Explore the original island with the rendezvous point and the giant canon. Not the base itself. You missed something. 2- Use reinforcements on the walls so you don't have to build foundations. Reinforcements are way more effective and use up no space (unless you were gonna make windows) 3- Upgrade your seamoth. You're already retiring it without giving it any love.

MERG I HAVE 3 VERY VERY VERY IMPORTANT SUGGESTIONS 1. You can upgrade the depth module on the Seamoth to get down to 900 meters (depth module mk3) at the modification station, so you can go down deep with easier mobility with a smaller machine/less chance of attack. I used the Seamoth for late-game stuff and it's way easier and I really want to make it easier for you. PLEASE UPGRADE I JUST LOVE THE SEAMOTH LOL 2. You can kill the Reaper Leviathan near your base so it doesn't attack again, use the stasis rifle at its head and just whack away for about 5-10 minutes. 3. You're great keep up the amazing vids!!!

Merg- Building Reinforcements on walls with lithium will increase the strength of your base by +7, instead of the +2 bonus that foundations provide! Also, the reaper can't destroy your base, dont worry too much about him. The only way he can really damage it is by attempting to attack you directly while your outside, but hitting the base instead. He'll never attack your base actively, just you or vehicles you leave out. Hull integrity (a bit counterintuitively) won't help against this no matter how much you have, but so long as you're above 0 integrity your base will remain strong (unless attacked accidentally of course). You've just gotta be vigilant about repairs when the lights go dark. Cheers on another great subnautica video!

Deep deeper yet deeper. Nice job on the literal hell base. Only thing I recommend for that base is a fabricator and a modification station. Anything else is your call. You can find table coral in the lost river, it's green there. So much exploring done and so much more to do, I love that your so genuinely excited and having fun. @Merg couple tips 1)visit the Tower Island(or the Degasi one, I dont remember) and seek the caves. Dont forget to take an Ion cube there (and always have one in your storage in general). You will see what those arcs have been made for. 2)Keep closer look for the peepers in maps outskirts. They are more important than you could imagine. 3)The foundation is supposed to be built before rooms. Howewer, you can always reinforce your Base with reinforced hull. 4)I think cuddlefish has despawned. Happened to my magnet thing that I used as a fishing tool Just outside of my Base. Dunno if its a bug, or How it should work. If possible, before ending session, keep it at least in your inventory. 5)Obviously...Upgrade the depth enhance modules for all your transports as soon as possible. You never know How deep you might need to go... Also the heat-powering up module at least for Gal would be nice, as while grapple boost is THE fastest way of travelling in game, its quite energy consuming. Other than that, youre doing great! Cant wait to see the next one.

I can't believe the cuddle fish disappeared, mine has been doing figure 8's on one of my foundation pieces for upwards of 40 hours and many reloads. It's possible he clipped through the ground, I've seen that happen a number of creatures (usually leviathans) and even my prawn suit one time. I could tell you how to use the dev console to possibly fix that if you want.

Merg, the easiest way to make a base is with a multi-purpose room, a scanner room, a hatch and a *bioreactor,* it's actually the best way to have energy, you can just take a gel sack or even a fish to power everything and it works well

One thing about the Alien Containment: the only fish you can release outside is the Cuddlefish. Everything inside is harmless, but the instant you set it loose outside it will turn hostile if it can. So... Don't release like, a Crabsquid outside your base unless you *really* want some extra danger to your house.

You haven't lived until you yeet yourself through the Lost River or other underwater cave biomes with a double grappling arm prawn suit. You can use the hooks in rotation to never have a cooldown and just swing across the cave roof as a giant mecha Spiderman. When you want to mine something you just hop out and use the side panel to switch over to the drill arm. It's not only the coolest but also the fastest method of travel in the game.

I always wait for you to upload Subnautica cuz seeing a Subnautica vid by you just makes my day! Seriously, I really like how you scan everything, even background plants that won't have any use. (And of course, the Leviathans). You're also exceptionally organized.
