These stations are stunning. It’s so refreshing to see designs like this well maintained while keeping them fully functional, much nicer the the so called modern metros elsewhere. Hope we see these stations again in a victorious and free Ukraine! 💛💙

It seems as if Kharkiv looks after its Metro system a lot more than it does the Tramways! Lovely to hear those wonderful DC motors on the E and 81 trains!!

Does it surprise you? The Kharkiv Metro is the main type of public transport in the city, and the Kharkiv Tram is an auxiliary public transport.

Given the huge contrast between the two, yes!! Many cities have a flagship system but the gulf between the Metro system and the Tram system is so enormous, you would struggle to believe they are in the same city!

@@tomcloy1 In 1970-2010s, the tramway was considered an ineffective type of public transport in the cities of Ukrainian SSR, and then in Ukraine. It will take a lot of time and effort to change public opinion. Especially in Kyiv and Kharkiv where there are good subway systems.

Modifications of trains of the Ukrainian metro(Kiyev and Kharkov) and the Baku metro are better if we look at other Soviet countries. Of course, let's not forget the Moscow metro. The guys are developing the Moscow metro. I think the 81-765 type train should be used in Ukraine (Kyiv and Kharkov).

They build in 1975 - 1995 , so why they should be look modern? still, it looks much prettier than the metro in most cities

This is how trains and stations are in all the countries that came out of the former Soviet Union. Except for Baku metro. Because the old trains of Baku metro are slightly modified. And the Baku metropolitan is very successful in this business.
