Eliso Versaladze, one of the most distinguished Russian pianist said that it’s horrible playing of our lovely Katia. What do you think about this point? Katia is the most passionate and beautiful pianist, as and Eliso , of course she is great but why she criticizes Katie?

I thought the room had too much reverb for a piece like this. I''d prefer a drier room for such a piece.

International Association of Theatre Critics (Hong Kong) 31.03.2016 ..... One may say that it is important for musicians to have a unique musical style and personality, but is it even acceptable to interpret the pieces like what Buniatishvili did? Buniatishvili is intoxicated by being virtuosic and often forgets what is behind the music. One should have faith in his or her own interpretation, but he or she should also re-think whether he or she is doing justice to the music or not. In addition, technique is much more than playing the notes accurately and rapidly. Technique refers to the total mastery of the keyboard. Yet, at times Buniatishvili’s playing lost control, no matter use of pedal, or tone production. Virtuosity does not necessarily mean speed and volume. In order to become a mature artist with individuality, Buniatishvili has to reflect on her musical approach and attitude towards music making.

THE. LIVING. MUSIC One dares express an unpopular opinion, and you just jump on him like a psycho? Now, I’m not saying I’m protecting him. I quite like this interpretation and I respect the virtuosity and difference. The thing is, different people have different opinions.

THE. LIVING. MUSIC maybe but he‘s right! And also... I think everyone is allowed to express his opinion...

Music is a personal expression and we all hear it through different lenses. That’s what makes listening to the same music being played for hundreds of years still exciting today. If the composers were still alive, I’m sure even they would get tired of listening to their music being played the same way over and over again. Even if we don’t personally enjoy another person’s interpretation, we can still respect how the music spoke to them. Khatia definitely enjoys playing with virtuosity, but I don’t think she does so just for virtuosity’s sake. It’s clear here and in other performances that she plays from the soul and with great expression of emotion. If an artist can do that, then they did the music justice.

Well Georgie, I couldn't disagree more with your opining. Chopin would have fallen in love with Khatia's interpretations of his pieces, and perhaps with Khatia herself. It is not only acceptable for Khatia to give us her interpretation but preferable. You see Georges, music is an issue of the heart and not just notes on a page .
