To me it means losing your identity and roots and some people think that means marrying into other cultures and families. I don't believe that, obviously as I have a Korean wife. Great job as always. I imagine this must have been quite the daunting project to research seeing as detailed carthographical information on the Caucasus is pretty sparse. I like the addition of flags on the sidebar too, even if a few of them are pretty wrong. Using the red military banner of Constantine with three circles as a "flag" for the entire Roman Empire is a pretty bad misunderstanding for example. The use of the modern flag of the Greek Orthodox Church (which was adopted in the 20th Century) for the post 7th-Century Roman Empire is also a very strange decision with zero historical basis. I'm also not sure the red-green-yellow Ottoman flag ever actually existed. I realize the "flags" in the modern sense did not exist back then. But there are better, more accurate alternatives than the ones you used here.

Great maps, it would be nice to also include Imperial Russia’s provinces in the Caucasus (1828-1917), which largely defined the formation of the three republics there today (Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia).

For your info, Azerbaijan, the land, was part of Persian Empire till 1828. They lost a war, 1826-1828, to Russian Empire and surrendered the land to Russia. A few years after the Russian Revolution, Joseph Stalin made it a country in 1918 and called it Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan celebrated its Republic's 104th Anniversary about two months ago. No Azerbaijan and Turkiye on any historic maps.

Funny fact: Azerbaijani language was used as the official and lingua franca in 'Persia' and South Caucasus respectively throughout ages. Armenian language has never been the official one of any Empire. Ancient Armenia was multiethnic, and used Aramaic language as the official one, bring ruled by the Parthian dynasties. I have no clue why the Armenians are proud of it. By the way, Armenian capital Yerevan was founded as a fortress by the Urartian King B.C, and as a city it was foundee during the QaraQoyunlu rule: neither of them were Armenian. The first city of Karabakh, Shusha, was also founded by the Azeri Turks. The 'capital' of the 'Artsakh Republic', was an Azerbaijani village of Khankandi, that was later became 'Stepanakert' named after a Bolshevik mass murderer, Stepan Shahumian.
