My aunt make and sell this dessert for a living back in the 1970, in her village she was famous for the dessert. I used to watch her making the dessert on the street infront of our house as a child. It was one of my favorite dessert. I can still teast the dessert. Unfortunately my aunt had passed away on the 11 of this month she was 84 years old. I missed her already, i wish i could have visited her one last time in Battambong and ask her to make the dessert ( Covid destroyed my chances😪.) Thank you bong General for showing how to make this dessert. You did a great job for the tutorial. My aunt would have been very proud of you🙂

Thank you bong general for sharing this amazing recipes! I’m from Battambang and I love this nom. There is no body ever know how to make it in USA. I asked my mom once to learned to make this Nom when she went to visit Cambodia, she came back with the pot but when she try to make it here, it did not turn out right. Now that u show us, I’m gonna give it a try. This is Khmer’s best dessert, and U are right not too many people know this nom. Thanks a lot

Now I do understand why people stop making this nom because it is so hard to find the right rice to make it. You have to the old rice crops to make this nom and now, every store sell new rice crops. I had tried every rice crops in the US to make this nom the traditional Khmer way, but I was unable to make it. I looked on eBay and amazon and they do not sell it. I special ordered it in Phnom Penh. and it took the guy 1 month to make it. I you have family in Cambodia you may ask them to order 1 for you.
