From the way I understand L4D2 Versus unwritten rules, on normal Versus it is sporting to say "r" before games. Whereas on Realism Versus, it doesn't matter due to the huge advantages the infected side gets while the only way to counter it is to rush.

He helps his team if he feels like it especially on regular versus. In realism the infected do lots of damage, going back for someone gives the infected more time to take out the rest of the team. The Situation is basically the guy the Velociraptors kept alive at the bottom of the tree in Jurassic Park 3 to lure the other people down off the tree.
