Her death makes me so sad cause it just doesn't make sense. She worked all of her life to reach that point and then all was shattered in one day, just for the evil heart of a human. She deserved to stay longer, enjoy her marriage, have fun on stage, be loved by her family, and all the things that were taken away from her. So young, man. It just doesn't make sense and it truly never will. But she was a vibrant person and at least she got to enjoy love, from her husband, family and fans before things ended how it ended. Rest in peace Selena.

Not just that. Her husband told her not to go alone. She left early and without him intentionally. She also went back into the room with her after she took her to the hospital because she told her she was raped and there she found out she was lying. Something else was going on. Embezzlement but no lawsuit or cops called??? Financial records she couldn't get some other way or that she couldn't get someone else to get?? What records were they?? She also told her husband she had had a gun before. It's so confusing. If something illegal was going on I think she would have said but then again she never admitted to embezzling any money so if there was some funny financial business then she probably wouldn't say anything.

@@terrelljones7562 Exactly. There's this notion among some people that Selena "wasn't well - known outside of Texas" before her passing, but that's not really true. By 1994 - the year before - she had already performed all over the U.S., including many cities that some might not associate with Tejano music, as well as in Mexico, in the Caribbean, and Central and South America, as far away as Argentina. News organizations from literally all over the world covered her service, and a church in Spain, which was designed to hold 500 people, held a memorial mass for her. 1,500 people showed up, even though she never got the chance to perform in Spain. It seems that Selena was more well - known than even SHE realized.

@@BozeDoesGodsWork not the same. Selena was an American Mexican/homegrown and English was her first language. She was an inspiration for American born Latinos to learn Spanish and go back to their roots. Probably because her parents and siblings have been there since day 1. She only knew Chris a few short years. Even I, someone who was born 8 years after her passing, heavily feel it. Selena was not just a superstar, but a lovely rose. When you look at Selena's life, even though she left us young, her life was more full than most people will ever live, even past the age of 23. Some people are truly angels who were only meant to be with us for a set period of time, but the things they accomplish in that small window defy logic. Selena's life and her impact are perfect examples of that. For someone's life to be that brief and still to this day, continue to be celebrated and re-discovered by new generations tells you how special she truly was. All of the young girls who had the privilege of meeting her or going to a concert, now have daughters of their own and telling their stories about who she was and her talent. It all comes full circle. May "The Queen of Tejano Music" forever rest peacefully.

It's 1:06 PM on March 31, 2021. She died 26 years and one minute ago today. I can confidently say that Selena is well loved, admired, and remembered. I wasn't even alive yet when she passed away, I don't speak much Spanish, and I'm white, but I love and miss her as if I've known her my whole life. She had a lot of energy and talent as a singer, but she was an even greater treasure as a person. She was a very friendly, charismatic person who could make you feel like you were her best friend even if you'd only just met her. She was passionate about everything she did, and dedicated wholeheartedly to the people she loved, from her parents and siblings, to her husband, to her friends, to her fans. I'm glad she's now regarded as a legend, because she deserves it. I'm also happy to see articles, videos, specials, and interviews in English, not only so that I can understand them, but it also shows that the interest in and love for Selena is everywhere. She is one of the greats, not only musically but also as a human being.

Selena didn’t deserve what happened to her. So young, so beautiful. Forever young, forever beautiful. Her life is eternal and she’ll forever be a legend. Yes, I am not be apart of the Hispanic cultures BUT I grew listening to Selena and her music is just filled with dance, rhythm, life and love. It just puts you in such an amazing mood. Makes you want to get up and dance - to sing along.
