Khrome Werks louvered baffle sound test. Are they worth it?

Without baffles is definitely a better sound. I have three baffles of the 4 baffles made by KW, 1) the performance baffle, 2) the louvered baffle and 3) the dB Killer. Where the baffles really make the difference is in low end torque, especially in an M8 that has a cam upgrade. Without the baffles, there is a large dip in torque in the 2000-2500 RPM range. The cam upgrade has a huge impact on sound (improved) and with any of the baffles the sound is as good as a m8 with stock cam and no baffles in the KW slip ons.

Baffles help creat better performance period Use the baffles to provide a better engine and air flow to your engine They make plenty of noise

I ran the pipes without baffles. It was great sounding but I noticed power loss in 3rd during acceleration. I put the baffles in and it performed a lot better. I’m torn what to do. I like the sound of one but the performance of the other.

Just my opinion, but they are louder with the baffles in and it would’ve been nice if you hit the throttle once or twice. You’re still missing the whole point on installing the baffles it gives you more torque down low but if you’re just in it for the sound all the power to you.

I have the Dominator 4.5" full exhaust with the Performance inserts. It sounds very deep, never whiney. The audio does not do their sound any justice.

Try the perforated baffles that are straight thru but have holes in them.They Perform better than no baffles.

With the cat you don't really need the baffles, but without the cat you will need some type of baffle for sure, as stated the M8 engine needs some back pressure.

Thanks for making this video. It's been about a year since you made this video. Do you still feel the same way? No baffles? I bought a 24 CVO RG in January and late this afternoon, I received my Khromewerks 4.5" slip-ons with the louvered baffles. I'm going to install them tomorrow. Just wondered if you felt the loss in power or if you didn't notice any difference? I'm going to start with the baffles in.

I agree that the bike sounds better without the baffles, but it's my understanding that without baffles, these bikes lose power at the low rpm range. I'm beginning to think homemade "lollypops", DK Custom TTI's, or BCT baffles might be the way to produce that deep exhaust sound without sacrificing bottom end power. Anybody else have a suggestion?

I have stock decatted head pipe and the khrome werks hp plus slip ons. We added the perform baffles and gained about 4 hp and about 7 tq. This is obviously with a cam, 55mm intake and dyno tune.

The baffles are not for sound therefore low and torque around 2500 RPM put it on the dyno you’ll see

Did you notice any low end torque gain at 2000-2500 RPMs with the baffles? If not, I'm guessing the catalytic converter provides enough back pressure.

No I didn’t feel any difference between the two. I also felt the cat. would provide enough back pressure.

What headpipe is on your bike, also what has been done to it, cam ? tuner ? etc ?

Stock head pipe. So far the only modification I’ve done are the slip-ons.

I like the sound better with baffles. Did you have to remove anything before installing? I have same pipes. How does it respond on road with baffles?

I also have the Khrome Werkz but with the HP insert. Idle don't mean shit. Put some load on that engine and you'll have a more realistic comparison

If only you recorded that properly. - them mike is so stuffed from the exhaust pressure, the sound is horrible.

Audio is terrible guy, no difference between the two just hot exhaust hitting the speaker.
