This is the first clip I've seen of Laura playing her new bass, and I honestly don't think I've ever heard her sounding better. I realise it might just be how the broadcast engineer mixed the sound for this video, but there's a bite to her tone here that I can't recall ever hearing before. Absolutely love it, honestly feels like a levelling up of their entire sound

wigs, ass, drum machine beat and tinny guitar. great gimmic..thats supposedly 'still developing'... no doubt..if thats your bag. but beyond the hype.. where's the real hard jamming over the melody that truly great musicians do? posers are everywhere in the real music world. skip the justification bs,lol. where is the substance?
@imthewungfu7033 ай бұрын
Do you really mean that? Is the whole concert filled with this? I thought this was a good act
@Rikkcas3 ай бұрын
@@imthewungfu703 yes.. because that's exactly what it is.. an act. but it's ok to have different tastes in music. yours is just as good as mine or anybody's. the 'chill' crowd likes them. I know many musicians that don't because of their gimmic. it's kind of canned entertainment.
@imthewungfu7033 ай бұрын
@@Rikkcasi don’t know man, I guess we are all entitled to an opinion. You also said “ass” like it was on the screen everywhere, didn’t see a single ass shot. Not sure how old you are but I hope any age can appreciate the guitarists playing. Idk you sound just kind of upset about what used to be. Also this isn’t even the type of genre for that style. I’m not sure what acts were on Electric Castle in the past though.
@Rikkcas3 ай бұрын
@@imthewungfu703 'ass' is the supposedly sexy sway movements they do that appeals to some younger guys. What is the purpose of that if it's not gimmic ? It has nothing to do with music. As far as " what used to be", you're showing your age. Good skillful jamming as well as good lyrical content still is, and always has been, a staple of what is considered timeless music. this act, although polished, is not timeless music. If not, a good drum or bass machine can do this just as well. It's also a large reason why lots of today's type of music is highly programmed synthetically. That's why jazz, fusion, and funk are still very much an artform. The thin, trebly and over reverbed guitar tone.. I'll pass... as well as the monotonous repetitive bass and drum lines. But hey.. whatever floats your boat. We definitely are all entitled to an opinion.
@imthewungfu7033 ай бұрын
@@Rikkcas too much criticism in the world of music, it’s just not the right place. Im 23, I appreciate anything from CCR to Lauryn Hill and Tom Petty to MC Hammer. It’s just not your cup of tea, so I just would refrain from listening. I hope I can persuade to a different feeling of heart. Music that you don’t like doesn’t deserve to be critiqued with such depth, I just turn the other cheek and respect that noise is being made from people’s instruments. And that’s that. Some bands I can’t listen to live, I’ll tell you one band is WetLeg. I can listen to DEHD, but not Wet Leg. Check those bands out they’re also “new age” indie bands. Anyways.
