Also to let people know. The chest doesn't drop the mote of light. it will drop were you kill the boss. everytime i kill a boss, i run to the chest and i dont see the mote unilt i go back were i kill the boss and you can see the purple pyramid.

So me and my friend did the meatball last. The mote DOES drop, we predicted that the boss death animation likely just launched the exotic engram containing the mote across the way as we found it a considerable distance away from where it died. As for people having the mote and the chest still saying you lack something, you DO need the legendary variant of the gun to open the chest.

Well whatever you do, do not kill the meatball last, since its probably the one that didn't drop it. If you kill it last, it will consume all of your motes and lock you out of the quest. Apparently it's a bug right now.

If you're checking which bosses you killed via triumphs - don't. Triumphs for defeating overthrow bosses, in all 3 locations, are bugged. If you don't remember which ones you defeated, just complete overthrow in each location. Ideally solo

Sure thing. If you don’t have the gold mote, it means you might not have gotten a mote from one of the overthrow bosses. It is most likely the meatball (koftiks, who is the third boss in the blooming area) and you will need to re farm him until you get it. However, some people have reported they were missing a mote from a different boss. Unfortunately there is no way to tell :(

I'm 99% perecnt sure that the meatball boss is actually dropping the mote. I thought mine didn't but it had actually just dropped in a really weird place behind this tree pretty far from where I killed the boss and kind of out of sight. So people have a look aroud it might just be hidden.

Well the meatball boss isn’t currently in the game. It was removed and bungie made a tweet about it. I covered it in a video to try and get the word out but basically you can’t progress until they add TV at boss back in.

So either 1. You haven’t gotten the legendary version of the gun which you need to. A guide for that is linked in the description. You need it to get the exotic version. 2. You just need to walk around the side of the chest until you see the interact button because it’s a little buggy

If you leave the area for the overthrow it still keeps your progress but if you leave the pale heart for too long then your progress is reset.

Something to add, the khvostov quest us bugged for a lot of ppl. The quest for the cyst “smothering darkness” simply never shows up. Therefore you can never get the piece from there. Happens to myself, really sucks.

For example, you know keys (cyst i think that what they are call) you get from opening the golden chest, yea you need all 9 of them . Then you gotta do micah 10 alon in the dark. The quest tells you home many cyst you need after you collect all from the golden chest. After you do all that then you can get the motes of light and the exotic one at the end, and the collectable. Ones you do all that then go for the golden chest that gives the weapon.

That's not a bug. It's normal for the quest to "reset" every time you do it. It is an infinitely repeatable quest. The thing is that you need to keep running it over and over to unlock both the cysts and the paranormal geometry activities. Every time you go back to Micah and get your reward, you'll be able to pick up the quest again and continue.

Yes you are lacking the legendary Khvostov as stated in the title. It isn’t said anywhere in the quest sadly so I didn’t know at the time of making this video but you do need to get it

The meatball is still buggy yes and you may need to farm him a few times to get it to drop. If you’re certain he dropped it or if you’re still 1 short after you get it from him, then yes it was another boss that didn’t drop it. Unfortunately the only way to know is by doing them again

That depends. Did you kill the servitor/meatball boss? Because it was removed from the game yesterday, which would explain why you are one mote short. So if thats the case, you cant finish it right now. If you already got the mote from it and are one short, it might mean another one of the bosses did not drop it, which might require more farming.

Any idea why when trying to go for other bosses solo, it just kept giving me the meatball in the blooming? Ive done blooming the least so Im pretty sure thats where some of my missing motes are. Also, motes can get launched pretty far by certain things. Alot of the time if you dont get a mote from a boss, the physical drop on the ground couldve been launched far away. It doesnt seem to go to your postmaster either so its very hard to find out what bosses are actually missing :/ Bungie is aware of the mote disappearing issue, its listed in the known issues forum page now.

I’m unclear on what you mean by dont kill the meatball last. I need 2 motes. I have one more collectible to get and the meatball to kill. Are you saying to kill the meatball before picking up the final collectible?

Yes. And make sure to get the meatball to drop the mote first, even if it takes a few times of grinding to get it. The mote might actually fly away across the map so keep an eye out for it.

i collect all travelers and place them. golden chest dropped but i cant open it. it says "you lacking someting" but what is it ? ( i have 16 mote of light btw )

You need 17 motes and then that stack of motes will turn into an exotic one. You are probably missing one from the meatball guy, and you might have to farm a few times to get it to drop. Although if you remember getting the more from the meatball guy (aka Koftiks, the 3rd boss in the blooming) then maybe it’s a different boss that didn’t drop it :/ unfortunately there’s no way to know. It’s just that the meatball is the most inconsistent one. Then make sure you’ve gotten the legendary khvostov and you can open the chest

It means you’re missing a more or two. Your 17th mote will transform it into the exotic looking one. So you’ll need to re-farm any bosses that didn’t drop it for you

He is the only boss spawning for me now in blooming but killed him like 5 times and still no drop. I’ve finished all the triumphs for bosses but no way to know if it is him or because he’s only one spawning does that mean it’s def him still to drop me the mote

the bosses totally seem random. trying to get meatball before moving to the final area and got the vex dude 4 times in a row, ogre 2 times the back to vex dude 2 more times in a row
