Problem Fixed!!!!! KIA Optima 2013 LX model..I had same issue while I was driving and it's suddenly turned off. I tried pressing all buttons but no luck. Hard press the power button and hold it for 10 second but it didn't work. So I reset the radio with that little button right next to power button. And believe me it fixed the issue now radio is turned on and I am enjoying my music. Reset button looks like little hole so if you have thin wire or anything that can fit in that whole just press&hold that button for 10 seconds and it will fix your issue and if still not fixed then take it to the repair shop. So to fix this problem it’s your fuse box. Change either the 15 fuse for audio or 10 fuse for clock started working right back up. Also go to auto zone they have a fuse tester and a box of different fuses just look for the same fuse and switch.

My Kia Forte I just experienced the same thing my wife found a forum there's a yellow looking on and off button in the fuse panel turn it off for 5 minutes with your ignition off and wait 5 minutes and turn it back on. My radio works again. There was no reset button on my stereo system

I’ve been having the same problem with my 2018 Kia Rio. When I first got it new it would shut off in the cold, but come on about a half hour later. It’s been a year since then, and it’s turned off again. But this time hasn’t come back on in a day. The reset button does nothing at all, either.

My 22 Forte GT is having this same issue. Was driving yet all my displays turned off, including the speed gauge. Then when I turned it off everything inside went off then the engine kept running. So I hit the start button again and nothing happened. I eventually got it to turn off by hitting the brake and start button as if I was turning it on, then turned it off. Then it worked. Believe something electrical is wrong.

@@3ellegurl Super late reply, but I thought I'd update and say the problem eventually resolved itself. The problem stopped happening suddenly, yet after that I started having problems with my alarm system randomly going off when trying to start my car. That eventually resolved itself as well in about six months. Weird.

YES! i just had the issue where when you put it in reverse, the camera came on, when i stuck it in drive, it went off and stayed black, couldnt use controlls on sterring wheel or anything, 2016 with 17k miles... come on kia, i pressed that reset button and it works faster than ever

Taking the negative (or ground terminal) from the battery resets all the electricals. The same thing can be done with the reset button right below the VOL (volume button) it's a tiny hole you use a pen to reset it and it reboots it. The head unit tends to "crash" and you just have to restart it. Problem solved. No fuze. Nothing broken.

I'm. In south Africa pretoria and I'm driving a 2023 Kia sportage 1.6 gdi ignite and the radio is tourch screen and it came with the car. This morning it gave an information sign and underneath it said downloading do not turn the car off from 07:00am till now it's still showing the same. I don't have the power button since I have the volume putton on the steering wheel and I need help so I can know what to do the radio is not playing but the vehicle starts when I turn on the keys

Mine did the same thing. There's a circuit board in the radio that comes loose and it makes the radio over heat. Mine almost caught fire. I had to order a new one.

My 2009 Kia Rio 5 is nothing but static. Bluetooth works, CD works but the stations are static. What can I do to fix this? The fuses are good to.

Gareth Campbell Did u ever figure out why? I have a 2013 Kia Soul when I have the car in park everything is fine. When I drive it can work and then it starts the static may pause the sound but play. Then I can stop and it’s ok? I think it’s a wire but not sure. I had my drive speaker go completely out a few months ago but it did the static would rarely come back and now it doesn’t at all.

Kia optima 2013 as well. reset button and taking the minus off of the battery for 30 seconds did not resolve the issue unfortunately. Issue began yesterday after getting a jump. Assuming a fuse blew or a battery issue. Going to replace the fuse next located as 15a under the steering wheel in a box. Keep you guys posted.

That’s all I did is pull the fuse out and reset it or replace the fuse haven’t had a problem since it’s going on three years 👍

Ok this is really simple fix its in tge inside fuse panel by the knee its labeled room it a weak fuse the bracket that holds it in is kind of hard to get out its a 15 amp blade mini fuse it's will look OK but its not not only should you look at the fusd but tgey should be tested the ond I replaced lokned fine but it did not test good repkaced it and everthing works fine a broken fuse will act t his way.

I have a list of gremlins relating to the radio. Radio works. CD works. Flash drive works. I can't select specific folders or specific tracks within folder though. Once i put a flash drive in, I can't select a specific folder and I could before. The mute button works for a second, then the sound comes back on. When the bluetooth is on, and I use the steering controls to adjust the volume, the system automatically dials the last number I called. A techie advised me to disconnect the battery and reconnect after 5 mins and enter the reset code. Has anybody done this? Has it solved the problems mentioned above? What is the reset code and where would I find it? TIA

KIA Rio 2013 - Same thing - Radio screen just completely dead this morning. Will try the negative battery terminal trick. Can't get the yellow fuse holder out to check the audio 20A fuse, nearly dislocated my thumb. Can't trace a reset pin opening either like some other models on KZbin have. KIA Dealer wants $100 just to look at it. Radio left warranty after 3yrs, even though warranty goes till 5yrs. Fckn bastards...

I have a 2012 kia forte, and when I crank the car, the radio comes on and goes back off, and then I can't turn it on, but when I turn it off and crank it again the radio comes on and goes right back off. Here is how I fixed it. with the car off,,,,don't crank it just have it OFF,,,take a ball point pen, and stick it in the reset button next to where the (DISP) button is on the CD player, and hold it for like 5 seconds, it will reboot with the car off,,,,after it reboots,,,crank the car and turn radio on,,,,mine came on and worked fine. You just have to reset the system. Hope this helps.

@@philippa2391 Hey! It did, I took my car to the mechanic and he told me the radio was "unplugged" so he plugged it again, that's what he said. The radio was completely dead and then it worked perfectly.
