Just watched this. Pretty much in line with our own experience with our two year old eNiro (second service next week, £125 fixed) although most of our charging is at home and we’ve got 4Kw of Solar panels on the roof. No snags so far, car has been faultless. Longest single trip was 560 miles over a day and a half. Charging on the go is definitely getting easier here in the UK compared to two years ago.

Lovely update. Our eNiro just crossed 50 000 km and it is still without an issue :)

Interesting video that ties in with our long term experience. We own a 2020 Kia e-Niro that is just over 4 years old with 41k miles on the clock. We live in the UK and have a house in the Charente Maritime , our experieces virtually mirror yours. Like yours, our car has thankfully been faultless. On longer trips, motorway charging on both sides of the Channel seems to be slowly improving but we find it flakier in the UK with out of action chargers and under capacity , in part due to the higher level of recent EV take up in the UK. Tesla seem to have got the charging process and infrastucture mapped in from the off with other providers gradually catching up. Thank you.

Hello there, Some people are having issues with the bearings in the transaxle"transmission". There are videos showing the transaxle making rumbling sounds and the oil darker than usual. Any ideas why and have you had of a problem like this?
@kiae-nirodiariesencore427010 ай бұрын
I have not had such a problem nor have heard of it on the UK Kia e-Niro owners Facebook group. There are about 3,500 members on there. Might be worth asking them. Thanks for watching.

@kiae-nirodiariesencore4270 some mechanics, evclinic and carrepairvideos have videos showing the problem. I ask kia dealer in my area and they said they know the issue and transaxle will be replaced under warranty if you have one.

Great update, ours will be 2yrsold in February & has covered 115k kms, only issue was 12v battery. Great car so much so that my wife forbids me to sell it! I've saved close to €4k in fuel per year. Only small issue is cabin noise @ motorway speed - I'm tempted to remove rear wheel interior trim & apply sound deadening tape to see if it helps - saw where a tesla owner said it made a big difference. Happy New year

115 k kms!...That's a lot of driving in two years. You must have a long commute😊. I suspect you will soon be in the Kia e-Niro 'high mileage club', if such a thing exists. When I first got the car in 2019 there was an Uber driver on KZbin who had one as a working car in London, he did 70,000 miles in about 15 months. He didn't report any problems but then passed 'The Knowledge' in London and drives a black cab now so no more updates from him on the Kia. You talk about € and km so are you living in Europe, not UK? I know UK roads are really noisy, we notice it as soon as we roll off the ferry on trips back there. On French autoroutes we don't find the car at all noisy. Of course the motor makes hardly any noise but tyre and wind noise become more noticeable in an EV so it is important to chose the right tyres. Here's a video from 'Go Green Autos' in the UK where he talks about quieter tyres. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gmjIpZZmbZKrfLc. Thanks for watching and please keep in touch as I'm sure there will be a lot of interest in how your e-Niro is doing as you pile on the km.

@@kiae-nirodiariesencore4270 Thanks for the reply and the link. I live in Clare on the the west coast of Ireland and everywhere's a commute from here I'm afraid - I'll keep you posted if I do the soundproofing.

Very informative, as ever, thanks. The stark facts are related to the difference in electricity costs between France and UK. I do get benefit of a cheap rate overnight £0.09/Kwhr, with a daily standing charge of some £0.42 (costs £0.30/kWhr in daytime but I have a separate supply into garage), so it is cheaper to home charge. I have over 90,000km on the car and 90% is home charged, but the 10% is now costing around £0.80/kWhr until I can use Tesla Superchargers. Only issue with the car is a recent one where mice chewed through the windscreen washer pipe - cost £4.00 for a new connector!

Thanks for watching and for sharing your experiences of UK costs. We do notice the difference in pricing when we come back to the UK as you may have seen in my videos of those trips. The overnight low prices for home charging you get are great though, I guess you add a typical week's driving at that price for about £3.50, no fossil fuel car can compete with that. The availability of Tesla Superchargers has made a big difference to pricing here. As I think I mentioned on a previous video the typical rapid charging price in 2022 was around €0.79, then Tesla came with around €0.43 and the others (Ionity, Total, Engie etc) have reduced theirs to compete. Mice!?...you need a cat.😊

Hello again, and thank you for the update. I appreciate your long term review of your 2019 eNiro. I have a 2020 Niro EV Platnum edition. In the States they call it Niro EV. I really love my EV and drive it more often than I thought I would. I have about 97K KM, or 6085 miles. The car is still running pretty good. I get about 200 miles during the Winter months (2 Celsius), and about 238 during the Summer (36 degrees Celsius). My question to you is.....have you notice any battery degradation with your eNiro? I haven't really seen any difference with mine so I was just curious if you see a difference. Last Summer I fully charge and got about 342 miles, or 550 Kilometer. Anyway thanks for sharing again. I appreciate you.

Your car is a bit newer than ours but has done about the same mileage/km. My experience of winter/summer range on the GuessOmeter is much the same as yours, though I doubt our average winter temperatures are as low. On Monday I did a 120 km airport run to Poitiers, it was zero degrees C and our efficiency was only 19.5 kW/100 km...so that works out at a range of 200 miles, pretty much what you are saying. Our winters are normally in the 5c to 10c range but we do get the odd cold snap. In summer at 100% SOC I have seen 540 km on the GOM, this after a few weeks of local driving where we are seeing between 11 and 12 kWh/100 km. It is great to hear from a Niro EV owner in the USA, thanks for sharing and for watching.
