Thanks Brian. Good to know what we in Australia are missing out on.... in their wisdom, KIA Australia did not implement any voice commands on the EV6. The only voice control we have is via Android Auto. Cannot understand why they took this decision.

Happy new year. Instead of "Navigate home/work" you can say "Go to home/work" which sounds more natural. For postcode navigation don't include the town, just say the postcode.

Cheers, Happy New Year. As I’ve shown in the video Postcode Search is not consistent. It works sometimes without the Town but as soon as you do an address in Birmingham it ignores the Post Code and randomly picks the Jewelry Quarter every time so you have to use the Street to fix this. I will add the Go Home/Work commands to the list i’ve compiled in the video Description. Many Thanks.

Happy New Year! ,Office Postcode is my old workplace before retirement. They are not there any more. They moved to Birmingham Business Park where Apricot Computers spent it’s final years. If i’d stayed i would have gone full circle. Bennetts Hill Postcode is the Postcode for The Wellington Real Ale pub😂

I find your vlogs super!!! l drive a Kia EV6 from about 30 juni 2022. Can you tell me which most recent sofware update for my Kia EV6 is available? And I have a san-disk. The dealer will not install me an update, untill the first car check, after ....... km. For example. The update contents software about pre conditionering. This is something wat should be standard in the EV6-GT line, but is working since dec. '22 So, The dealer should install it free, or make l a mistake? So, can you tell me which version l need? And, can l downloaded it through the Kia website? Thanks in advance for your answer.

Cheers Patrick. Head unit software is version 221129 which came out in early December. You can download from update.kia.com. You will need a 64Gb Sandisk and a PC. The update for pre-heating by your dealer seems to be either chargeable or do for free if your car is in for service and warranty work but this varies from country to country. Only head unit software you can do yourself, Pre-conditioning update is a dealer only thing.

is there any voice command to start battery pre-conditioning? i know it can start heating the battery when you us the cars navigation and you get close to the charger. but i've heard thats bad and most people use navigation from android auto instead. and i really wish you could just say "car, start heating the battery", when you human know you are close to the charging station. instead of having to dig through the menu.

Not that i know of. A new Maps & Head Unit came out last Wednesday (230601) when i was away. It’s not listed in the help page but i will try all the same when i get some time.

Hi and thanks for the great content. Do you no if leaving wireless CarPlay / Android Auto dongle plugged in all the time drains the 12 volt battery?

Cheers. The USB ports get woken up for 10 minutes every time you use Kia Connect to check the car status so it will use a little bit but probably not enough to drain unless you are using Intelligent Octopus and the Kia Beta API to control charging.

They are in the description of the video. I’ve figured them out by trial and error over the last year. Never found an official complete list.

I believe, from watching another YT video on this subject by a Canadian EV6 owner (High On Cars), you can get a list of commands by pressing the voice swithch on the steering wheel and just saying "Commands".

@@Jock55Cheers Nick that’s news to me. Just tried it and it brings up the same very short list of commands that you get from pressing the ‘i’ button (which i’ve mentioned in previous voice command videos) so still no comprehensive list. I will add this command into the video notes in the description though as it’s useful. Thanks for that.

Is "defrost" for both the front and rear windscreens?

I think it’s just for the front but not 100% sure. Will try it next time it’s frosty.
