my latch wont open when pressed on the outer handle nor by the unlock feature on my key fob, would i need to replace the entire assembly?

I would assume so, can you get into the trunk and release from the emergency handle?

@@enimem50187 yes, i can manually open it from the inside. it hust wont open whwn lressing on the outer latch, nor with the fob. another quwstion. coould the 15a fuse be bad and cause this issue?

@@gijane1996 check the fuse and the electrical connector for the latch. If both aren't burnt out I would suggest replacing the latch.

Is it the latch or the actuator system? Saw both but don’t know which one to get

This is the latch, the actuator should be for power liftgates.

@@enimem50187 so if i dont have a power lift bit rather a manual lift gate. then dont get an actuator, just the latch assembly?

@@gijane1996 I don't have a power lift gate, or actuators, just the regular trunk. If your actuators still lift up after you manually release I would still be looking at that latch.

So KIA Dealer told me it voids the warranty if I do it. My KIA Forte S 2018 has trunk wide open and it won't latch. I think the KIA dealer LIES. I just ordered a new part from Amazon

Dealers are stupid. It does not void warranties to do repairs on your vehicle. Unless you're making your trunk an explosive device, then it's not the original intention of the part.

They made me pay for it, and now it’s broke again. And I saw there is a recall on it but they haven’t came up with a solution yet

@@MFFL_MDP Do it yourself, get that from Amazon and fix it, takes literally 15 min and there is a video on Amazon how to fix trunk latch for Kia/Hyundai
