Here is the last part on how to change a vin onto a kia/hyundai ecu. Process is not this long, I just wanted to show the process that it took me to get this right.

Thanks, I really appreciate this walk through. I didn’t know about ktag and kess but this seems like a good toolset/procedure to reuse a salvage ecm/pcm rather than buying a new OEM part

no programming needed if its a direct copy. just pull the information and clone it to the ecu, but if the ecu is unreadable then this is how you would change the vin.

Can you leave it blank and rewrite the right vin using the Autel scanner once installed in the vehicle? ...thnaks

no. you need a virgin eeprom file for that,

No as there is a code(sequence) in place of the vin for a virgin ECU . I dont know what sequence it is. Maybe you can locate a virgin ECU file and load it that what.

How do we get pin from donor pcm to put it in neural mode? 2005 tiburon. Will dealer give it out?

how can I duplicate an ecu. So my brother bought a tuned ecu. I want to clone it but I need to keep things such as keys and other things that mine does not have that his does. How can I clone just the tunning? Can I send you both ECU's and you clone it for me?

Sorry, i cannot help with this.. so from the knowledge i have, the tune is embedded in the ecu maps so the only way to get this tune is to have the original file for the vehicle and then add the specific data(or replace) to the maps of the original file, i can clone a pcm but as for pulling out the tune, that is far beyond my capabilities. Sorry i cannot be of more assistance.

oh ok.. so you just need a clone then, and not to change any information from the original ecu, just a copy and paste.
