Appreciate the review. I took delivery of the EX Touring in cityscape green back in November last year and haven't looked back. I love this car and with mods to get rid of the piano black center console area and some minor red trim on the outside, it's an even more awesome car now. The best part of this car is the regen braking customization and use. To me it's like driving a manual since I use it for braking and hardly use my brake pedal except to come to a complete stop. It truly engages me whenever I drive the car. My hybrid tankful average is about 58 to 60mpgs down here in Texas since buying this vehicle. Keep up the great work on your reviews. I think this is the most under rated hybrid in 2023.

Thanks so much! Those mods sound great, always good to hear when people spend some time customizing the interior! So true about the regen braking and then when you step into one pedal drive.. even more so like downshifting a manual. Is it the first time that you've owned a hybrid?

@CarsWithSteve I went with the hybrid, I don't have the ability to charge an EV and was shopping for gas efficiency with my new car due to having a 30mile drive to and from work. I love my Niro.

When using highway driving assist on the Niro do you get the boxes showing other cars locations on the drivers display like on the EV6 and Ioniq 5 at all? Seems a handy feature.

There's a little indicator at the top in the centre to tell you which distance you selected, believe it's the same as the EV6

@@CarsWithSteve is that all it has? I thought the EV6 showed boxes (to indicate cars) on the sides as well. bit like a very basic version of the Tesla system that shows cars, cones, people etc.

Just bought a '24 Niro EX hybrid in Florida, and my speed display looks nothing like this; strictly digital speed, no round "dials" like you show here. Is there that much difference between the US and Canadian versions of the vehicle? Or is it a trim level thing?

How do you reset the cruise speed after you had to break? I kind to have to restart from the beginning as I could not find the button to reset to previous set speed.

I just bought a 2024 Niro HEV (regular hybrid) SX Touring, delivered today! I'm coming from a 2017 Touring.... Which I have loved since I bought it new in 2017! The last thing you mentioned is head up display isn't standard. Is it only in Canada? I thought it was standard until I tried looking for info tonight & have found nothing helpful. 🙄😄

Just a few things different from the 2017! I was just looking through specs on the Niro in the US and it looks like it's not available in any 2024 models in the HEV, PHEV or EV. So weird that feature isn't included in US builds

@@CarsWithSteve I was really disappointed that it doesn't have that feature. It's not the end of the world...but it makes no sense to have it in one country and not another! I'm still happy with my purchase and I can really tell a difference in the suspension and how smooth it rides in comparison to the 2017 when it was brand new. I'm probably a Kia driver for life!! 😍😄

Sometimes the difference between Canadian and US models are odd. There are some models where we don't get sunroofs or the option for tech packages that buyers in the US have but whatcha gonna do? Great to hear that you're loving the Kia lineup. Think you'll end up making the jump to a full EV at some point or stick with hybrids?

@@CarsWithSteve I'm pretty sure I'm going to stick with the hybrids. Full EV is still a gamble. If I could charge the car in 5-10 minutes, we'll talk!! I don't trust that they can make the grid reliable enough for many people to be charging EV's if most of us had one. At least with the current way it's setup.

I find it amazing that KIA can’t program the software so you can toggle between ROUND dials(as shown in this SX Touring video) and DIGITS/numerals(like in the EX Touring model). 🤨

I think the ux could use some improvement but it's a pretty good car imo (I've got a 23 Niro EV). (The buttons it does have are a bit cluttered and I really miss the click wheel from my BMW and Mazda, I really like the drive select wheel, but don't like that it's been given such prime real estate when you only use it like twice per drive. I think if they had integrated that into the push start button they could have done something more useful there like a click wheel or more programmable buttons)
