This just felt like a Seltos advertisement. It started off with focusing on the cost and efficiency, but the video kept focusing on the features of the Seltos. The truth is that actually the seltos is least comfortable car here , the seltos' suspension is very stiff and most of the road bumps are felt inside the cabin. This video is sponsored by Kia. In my experience hyryder has one of the best comfort in the segment whether its seat comfort or ride comfort or high speed stability , hyryder is an impressive car and in our mixed run of city and highway we got mileage of over 27kmpl+ which is amazing. Talking about switches they are all new in all models launched after 2022. I don't know where you find the problem. What actually matters in this segment is ride quality, ease of driving, good fuel efficiency, reliability, dependability, hassle-free ownership, and service and most people are happy if the car is effortless in 100 KPH+ highway cruise. Maruti and Toyota have hit that spot perfectly. Instead of sportiness, they have gone for a more well-rounded package with things that actually make sense. Monthly running costs MG- 2.2x2500= 5500 *home charging is 10 rs n not 24 rs/unit but still giving out the highest figure. Realistically it should be 3000rs. Toyota Hyryder- 4.2x2500= 10500 rs. Kia seltos- 5.3x2500= 13250 Rs.( that’s 10000 rs more than the EV per month 😱) Maintenance- MG easily wins because it consumes no oil other than brake fluid and the battery is under warranty whereas the diesel and hybrid are still a bomb to maintain. Overall the EV is faster and the most efficient and the battery is getting more cheaper by the day so long term has to be the EV.

Well.. when you are stuck in a slow moving long line of vehicles on the ghats, which is what happens every holiday, you wouldn't want to be in a petrol or diesel vehicle, burning up clutch plates and struggling with the lack of torque, what you want is an EV to zoom past vehicles before they realize what happened, and not to mention, not blowing up the clutch plates. In the above trip, the cost for EV was 2.2, that's owing to the higher cost at CPO, with JIO BP and Statiq, that can fall below 2 rs easily, and there is a difference in spending 5k or less a month and upwards of 10k. Keep in mind, the roads aren't always empty.

Apart from just calculating the running cost, also we should pay attention to the maintenance cost as well. Diesel and Hybrids will obvious have a hit on your wallet. Diesel requires DEF to be filled on designated intervals. However, maintenance cost for EVs are much lower, which ends up in saving lot of money. If the journey can be planned properly, EVs are best to be considered now. Range anxiety will always be there, but nowadays charging infrastructure is increasing which is promoting more customers to buy an ev. A good review. Thanks for your efforts for bringing this up. 👍🏻
