Kia Soul Alternator Replacement 2015

My 2015 Kia Soul Alternator died after 178,000 miles today 8/19/2019 I replaced the alternator took me like 30 min or so I also replaced the belt my local shop wanted $120 for this job. if you like the video leave a comment.

I'm loving my 2015 Soul more every time I see videos like this. I need to change thermostat. With alternator out it's wide open access. Dealership charges crazy prices. Wanted $209 for trans fluid change, I did it for $18! These cars are awesome

Thank you, check my local mechanic who said $100 and the dealer who said $625 (dealer included part and belt), now I see why I was having a difficult time releasing it from the bottom. Great video. Mine is a 2013 with 213k on it. Dealer did the cat for free last year, now the alternator is dead.

Thanks for the video, 2012 Kia Soul 1.6 is the same including the slot for the bottom bolt to be inserted before dropping it into the bracket.

That's my brothers car I did 178, in 2 years mine is the 2017 kia soul I will do a video of it in 3 -4 months when I get to 200,miles great cars except for the catalytic converter.

My 2014 is at 79k miles, and I believe i may need a new alternator. I try to turn on the car and its just dead silent, its not the battery because I was told at autozone when they tested it that its good to go.

I think it might be the starter 🤔. Because if your battery is good once you turn the key it should try to start it will crank the alternator doesn't start your car it charges your battery hope this helps let me know how you fixed it thank you take care

These can break at any point just like any other part some never break at all. My 2017 kia soul has 182,000 and it still working like a champ also same battery. My brother on his 2015 kia soul is on his 3rd battery.

For the life of me, I could not slip the new belt over the alternator pulley - too tight. Had to have it towed to the shop to complete the job. Had to pry off old belt.

So I decided to take the original one and went to a shop that rebuild them for $90 and I get to get the OEM parts instead of a AutoZone knock of part...mine still worked out the clutches inside started to disintegrate.. love your video especially with that small fan blowing your skeeters....
