Nice comprehensive summary Mike. I’ve got the older 30kWh version of this car and while the new one is a step on in range and tech, the old one still makes for an excellent car and is fully loaded with kit for its time. One thing I wish was carried over from the old version (at least as an option) was the light recycled cloth interior. The cabin was very airy and bright in that trim, and have to say heated cloth seats are lovely.

Great overview of the car, I pick mine up this coming Saturday and cant wait. I too have ordered the frunk for it and like the led upgrades you suggested for the reverse lights. Same white and red colour too. Keen to hear about the tyres when you do change them.

The replacement to the First Edition, the Maxx, has no heat pump. Do you think this is less of an issue in a big battery, 200 plus mile range car than say a 100 mile range car. My son has the earlier 30 kWh Soul with heat pump, but without the heat pump I think would be quite range limited in the winter.

Hi Mike, interesting video. I am looking at the Maxx which you mentioned has no HUD and Heat pump. Are there any other differences you are aware of and do those make much difference? Your thoughts/comments would be appreciated.

This is one car I didn't like the look of when it was petrol but for some reason my brain now seems to think its fine looking as an EV.

You seem to know this car. Please can you or someone else give me a definitive answer to this First Edition model. Does it have a heat pump ? Kia dealer says it does not however others say it does. It's the only thing stopping me from getting one over a Kona Premium SE which I've had before and that did have one. Thanks.

Did you try the Id3 before going for the soul ? I am undecided between the two I like the Id3 looks much better than the soul but the soul has a better spec and is a more proven long range EV

The inside is more important than the outside…. Why pay for someone else to look at it and say ‘’I like that” when you wont know most of those people…..
