On the Irish market we don't get the SUV cladding on the back and sides but we do get front parking sensors, an armrest in the back with cupholders and a USB port..... Driving mine for a year now and I absolutely love it.

Wait, your British version has no USB charger in the middle on the back of the arm rest?!? But I never understand why some regions in Europe (like Norway) are getting the armrest with cup holders in the back seats and Germans and British people don't. Strange. But overall a reall ygreat car. Very underrated by the public.

Agree, i noticed that in European models as well... British models get two tone paint & faux SUV look. From the front its baby Range Rover to my eyes ; that's another positive imo

Snap ! Have bought mine and picking it up on Friday. It’s ex-demo - in Gravity Grey. The colour choice is different here in Ireland - the Neptune Blue, and then “Sparkling Silver”,?and the darker Gravity Grey colour. Really looking forward to it! Thanks for the review.

Its a great car I have to say. Billy Joel....he has his moments I suppose!
@czmitche3 жыл бұрын
Billy Joel sang 'All about Soul' but he is not a soul singer - so this is a bit tenuous (but fun - great review). I have now just bought a Soul having previously had a Tesla Model 3 so have felt obliged to name my new car (its a Tesla thing) - Marvin seems spot on from both a soul and sci-fi perspective !

I think this is the next car for “my life!” Is the car an “entertainer!” Having something with this long a range could take me to my “river of dreams!” I am Keen to take the car to record some more “scenes from an Italian restaurant.” Just wondering do you think my keyboard would fit in the back, with a fairly large combo amp? it’s a full-size one. I’m a “piano man!” Cheers Rob

I am onto my second Yeti 150hp tdi and I love it, I tend to be a bit naughty chucking it around corners and bends. My question to anyone out there is, how would I like the Soul ev?
@AutoEV3 жыл бұрын
Apologies for taking so long to get back to you Mick. In answer to your question, I think you should look at the Soul. It is certainly my choice between this and the e-Niro and Kona Electric. Its quick, very refined, and handles decently. Good interior space, albeit maybe not as practical as the Yeti. Certainly worth a look if you are curious. Thanks for watching and taking the time to get in touch.

Can someone explain why you wouldn't use maximum regeneration all the time?....why is it adjustable?
@AutoEV3 жыл бұрын
@Nakadu, when driving on motorways, or open A-Roads, you need the car to coast for maximum efficiency. It’s why Porsche set the Taycan to do it. If you need to keep momentum up, like on a motorway, (with regen on) you’d constantly be “on throttle” and using battery power. But when you lift, the car would brake and slow down. What you need it to do is “coast” and maintain its speed with no braking and no energy being used. So you dial it back and let the car keep momentum at higher speeds even when not applying throttle. Bryan.

I like the Soul but my wife doesn't so I'm snookered. Have you any plans on testing the new MG5 ev?
@AutoEV4 жыл бұрын
Yes Keith, we do. We are just waiting on MG confirming a date that one is available to us. We have tested the ZS EV previously, so head over to that video to see what we thought of that!
@keithware53144 жыл бұрын
I have had a 24hr test drive of the MG5 and was quite impressed and would be interested in your views when you get it. Two things that stopped me buying it was no adaptive cruise control it only has the ordinary cruise control which I don't want to go back too and although not a deal breaker I found the virtual engine sound system intrusive in the cabin, I understand it must be heard by pedestrians but I don't really want to hear it to audible in the car.
@markcornwall81324 жыл бұрын
Fair review and pretty much why we bought one. Did consider the Niro but such bland colours to choose from and a little to similar to every other car on the road. There is a rear USB socket by the way, you can see it in your video, and the boot floor can be dropped to a lower level taking the size up to 390 litres and still room for cables below.
@jimwhook4 жыл бұрын
he's looking at the K2 variant and not the K3. K2 doesn't appear to get usb or pull down armrest. that looked to be a 12v connector not a USB. I didn't this till I double checked.
