Friend owned one, had to drive it like you were mad at it to make it run. No low end power and horrible in town from stoplight to stoplight, at high RPM though it really came on.

The Australian Commodore / chevy ss was designed to take you and your mates and the fishing boat or trailer with a few dirt bikes out for the weekend. To compare it against a Corvette or a Twin Turbo car is a joke. That Commodore is a base model V8. there were 3 models up from that that had up to 720hp in the same car. And it still holds its own against cars marketed as being fast. We built great cars here in Australia but the Unions in other countries refused to let us export them. Our Xr6 Falcon Turbo 4.0 litre 6 cyl was a weopan.

I had both a Chevy SS, and a Pontiac G8GT. The SS was the Commodore SS V Redline with the 6.2L LS3, not your base Commodore. Seeing as it used almost the same LS3 from the previous gen Corvette, and a very robust TR6060 transmission, it's definitely comparable. That said, yes, you did make some great cars. We almost ended up with a few more under the Pontiac name, but then stuff happened in '08 and they closed Pontiac. Was supposed to get the Ute and Wagon versions too. Always sent emails to Ford to get the Falcon here too. :)

Maybe after the next test n tune night on the 15th I will actually edit a video together. Otherwise, believe me or not, idc. The information is out there, 12.24 isn't a hard time to beat in a gen6 SS.

It's about power to weight ratio. A 240bhp Caterham destroys most very fast sports cars, and because it only weighs 700KG. A big old V8 and a big car doesn't stand a chance, unless it's running 1000bhp+.

My lil brothers kia stinger gt stock was doing 1/4 in high 11s, low 12s. And 1/8 in 9s. Def torque lil twin turbo. His is rear wheel drive though.

The Korean car companies have really stepped their game up the past few years. This is a very lightly modified car most of the gain is solely from the tune on a stock engine with stock turbos. Forced induction can generate tremedous power, AWD helps put it down to the ground. That being said if you take away the Twin Turbos the Stinger would barely get out of its own way. I'd never own a KIA. The Stinger is a 6 banger but the Gas mileage is hardly any better than that Corvette V8. And for a V8 Corvette the gas mileage is 25-30 MPG on the highway, which is damn good.

You could legit stay at the light for a minute, then break line and still run whatever you run. His mph is indeed high for his trap speed but it’s likely due to wheel spin or slow shifting or what have you. Many reasons an ET wouldn’t mimic ideal times. RT is not one of them.
