Anyone who gatekeeps HAIR should be ignored. Who are they to tell YOU how YOUR OWN HAIR should be? Even people with 4c hair need products and nearly every single person has a curl pattern, it’s so rare to have 1A hair, if you have a slight wave, you have a curl pattern and using products helps to accentuate the curls that could be there. Using a little product and tools to define your curls ain’t hurt anyone but these weirdos who hate people for having hair they disapprove of, we ignore those types of people

I think every curly person should use products on their hair because you just can't get it to look nice without it, it's all frizz, my hair looks like a mane of a lion, looks great on lions but not on people 😂 but when I use products it's mostly frizz free, but with some for volume of course, defined, shiny, and smells and feels amazing, I use just a leave in or a curl cream, a gel, and a bit of oil to finish. Also, products add and keep moisture in the hair, and moisture is a must for hair, especially curls

​@@berchyzgb4423 it depends on the texture. i have 3a-3b curls on the inner/bottom part of my head and more 2c on the outer part. PERSONALLY when i drench my hair in water after its been in the towel, those 3a-3b curls on the inside turn out extremely shiny and soft, but no so much with the 2c areas on the outside. Its all about using a lot of water to style your hair. the less water you use, depending on the curl texture the curls can come out stringy and dry looking.

I do her routine with less products, and I don't place the mousse on the top of my head cause when I tried that my scalp felt super sticky and crunchy. so I do this with NYM curl talk mousse and eco gel (And for shampoo and conditioner I use the OGX coconut curls). I work a small amount of the mousse through my hair and when my hair doesn't look white anymore I scrunch the eco gel in; then I diffuse. I love this because it gives my curls a boost without brush styling (im like 2c-3a). (ALSO THE WAVY/CURLY POLICE RANT I FELT THAT, AND THATS SO VALIDATING TO ME TYSM!!!)

Hello, I'm not sure if my hair is wavy because I've always combed it straight since I was a kid. When I was a teenager, my hair sometimes looked a little wavy, but then it was straight again. I tried to find out if my hair was wavy by scrunching it with mousse after showering while it was still wet, like many people do in their wavy/curly hair routine. Then my hair looks very wavy, but once it's dry it's just frizzy, but neither wavy nor straight.😂😂😂 If any of you have wavy hair, how much time (days/weeks) did it take for the waves/curls to come back and have a visible texture?

hey, this is not to be a hater but straight hair (1a and 1b) is typically listed on those curly hair diagrams. also the notion of the "curl police" is deeply rooted in anti-blackness since the reason ppl are so specific about what curly hair is that the natural hair movement was founded by black women who didn't just get told their wavy/curly hair was weird, they got told their kinky curly hair was unprofessional and got fired for wearing it. my mother has been rocking her waves since the 80s and has maintained a college education and jobs while always being told her hair was beautiful. so yes, there is a difference. edit: the man who made that chart was also anti-black (it was a black man who made it ironically) he had stated that he didn't want to add the type 4 because he implied it shouldn't exist and women with that hair should just chemically process it.
