Always love watching these videos to wind down after a rough day! How do I not stay complacent? I’m an English prof, so I am teaching the same essays/ content every semester. I love to change up my teaching methods or the way I teach/ approach a subject. It’s such a joy to hear students go from “I hate writing” to “wow writing can actually be fun”

HI Kiara! I am a physics student and I am specializing in medical physics. I worked for my final project working in proton therapy, where we mostly work with pediatric patients. So I can understand your feelings and excitement to be in this part of medical field. We as physicists do not directly interact with patients, even though we directly work on patients when designing their radiation treatment. So it is really nice to see your side of our field and see what you nurses and doctors do all day long! I really enjoy your videos and you are such an inspiration!

AHHHHH you answered my question!! ❤️ I love your answer, giving the life saving chemo would be such a powerful skill to practice. You sound like the kind of nurse I love working with! It sounds like you are appreciated on your unit and it is well deserved ❤️ QOTD: rereading past journal entries! Reflecting on those anxieties and where you were at when the next mountain seemed impossible to climb, but you did it anyways. It shows you how much life is always moving, despite not always feeling that way on the day to day.

Great answers to those questions. Can see why you are a great nurse and I am sure you are motivational to be working with. Have a great 7 days rest and relaxation. My answer to your question - I try to choose one or two tasks that I wish to accomplish every day depending on how my energy levels and body aches are. If I am feeling not good I give myself grace and tell myself that my body is telling me to rest. Can be very frustrating through.

That’s so so cool that your hospital has a break nurse! On the unit I work on (adult med surg/tele), our charge nurse breaks us for our 30 min lunch break, but since they have other responsibilities, they usually don’t help much with the nurse they’re breaking’s patients unless there’s some crisis. Legally we are supposed to get more breaks than just the one 30, but since we don’t have someone to break us, we realistically usually just don’t take any other breaks unless it’s a slow day (which is rare), or they’re interrupted quick breaks. I really love my coworkers where I work, but I wish we had more resources like this!
@KiaraMadisen4 ай бұрын
Wow yea 30 min is NOT enough and such a heavy burden for a charge to carry! I hope you can get more resources soon cuz that is simply not sustainable!

I don't know if you would feel uncomfortable answering this question but, as someone in health care are you advised to have patients veer away from any natural treatment or even things to just help with pain etc..? Like tea, castor oil, etc on top of traditional medicines and treatments? I have just had a lot of healthcare providers seem almost mad if I mention or ask about any of that or tell me its pointless even when I truly have felt better from things like that (of course with any medicine, physical therapy, treatments etc that they advise and prescribe). I've just been curious about that. Also I love your commitment to patients and ALSO being so creative and committed to your craft of doing youtube videos!
@KiaraMadisen4 ай бұрын
@@haleyherzog1089 I’m not personally advised to do so, and I’m all for if it makes you feel better and compliments western medicine, then go for it! But so many of our patients are told to try things that actually can interfere with their treatment working, so in that case it’s our provider’s responsibility to educate. And if there’s not data to scientifically back it up, as trained professionals, we are less likely to support it. Hope that makes sense :) everyone’s opinion is really different on this topic!
@haleyherzog10894 ай бұрын
@@KiaraMadisen Thank you for that! I also understand especially a lot of your patients are enduring much more serious stuff than some gut discomfort, hormonal stuff or things like that which are also not as dire situations needing more serious and clinically studied treatment.
