Brand new sub here! I absolutely ❤your apartment! I also live in a small apartment in Portland, but I am on the opposite side of things. I sold my large home 5 years ago & downsized after raising my family, etc. I travel a lot & am super active, so it didn’t make sense to keep paying for such a large home! I am very happy in my small space. I can still entertain & have my grandchildren over, & that’s what’s the most important to me:) I think the most sentimental items in my home is the beautiful pottery collection I inherited from my mom. It’s by the artist, David Enna, who was a local potter in the Zig Zag area of Mt. Hood. My mom lived in Welches for years, so it’s special to have part of that area of Mt. Hood represented in my home to enjoy daily. (I know Mt. Hood is also special to you!:) 🗻🏔️

I appreciate that you mention everyone in your life and how they have helped you. I think it's so important for people to know that being a functioning person doesn't mean doing it all yourself, it means being humble and accepting help and acknowledging that help. I know my family and friends have been so helpful to me and I am very grateful for them.

Be careful with your dry foods like grains & wheat in a humid closed closet it can get infested by flour mites even if they are sealed trust me, it's a nightmare 😮

Brooklinen is AWFUL! I bought some sheets and they smelled SO BAD!! Like chemicals! The worst smell ever! Sent them back and they sent another one and they smelled JUST AS BAD! I can’t understand how everyone raves about that brand.

Gosh I has to think really hard about what my most sentimental thing is in my apartment. I’ve moved from many different states and I’ve had to downsize my things so many times. I would say my kitchen aprons. Most of them have a story of how I received them and who gave them to me. But I do have a paint by numbers that I did that is of my hometown and is of a stop I frequented, so sometimes I look at it a remember the place I grew up.

I have so many because I am a bit of a hoarder lol but I have a Lamp my great grandfather made, and the shade is macrame. I also have a lovely wooden side table that my Great Uncle made. It is so cool that your dad is so talented with making stuff.

It was the first print I made an effort to put into a quality frame. Coffee is my comfort drink and is truly part of my identity (we listen and we don’t judge!).
