Vo-gel-sang: vo like 'go', gel like 'gal', sang like sang a song. My favorite spot in all the Sierra, went there several times late 80s/early 90s with my Dad, I've taken my kid there several times with his Scout troop, great memories. Sliding down the snow in trash bags above Fletcher Lake... great times.

Outstanding video. Glad the peanut M&M's made a comeback. I bike a lot and what I don't like is the electric bikes as they go buzzing by. Understand why people ride them but when I'm huffing and puffing it tics me off a little bit. Need to get into better shape. Fishing looked great too. Take care and stay safe, Al

Good video man and I love the fishing, I just bought a Tenkara fly fishing rod, they’re super light you should look into it.
@BurleyOutdoors4 жыл бұрын
I have looked into the Tenkara set ups. I could see them to be super useful in small streams. The reason I have not gone down that route is I tend to spend more time near or at lakes at the end of my day. A lot of the mountain lakes are very shallow close to shore and tend to have a drop off 20 to 40 feet off the shore which is where I typically get the most fish. Perhaps its due to my lack of knowledge but I have stayed away from Tenkara set ups because I'm not sure if I can get them out that far. My current spinning set up comes in at 1 lb 3-6oz depending on tackle. So its relatively light and I can launch the lures very far with my set up.

Thanks for a great video, it was nice to come along and the fishing at the end of the day was icing on the cake. To me it feels quite ominous without any animals, even birds!? Very strange. I've hiked that area many years ago and there were animals and birds all over. California really is dying.
@BurleyOutdoors4 жыл бұрын
There were plenty of animals. 1 deer, a hand full of marmots, and 100's of birds and chipmunks.

Awesome video and place. I was planning the JMT but its been postponed. Amazing.... California actually did one thing that actually makes sense. Less forest fires without denatured alcohol.

Real nice video. Much appreciated as I recover from some medical issues. Have you had any more issues, even mild, with altitude sickness? You were at some high elevations on this trip. My lungs didn’t fill up but my oxygen levels were very low (I’m a nurse), I was sleeping bag-bound and I was not accommodating. I am discouraged that my love of the mountains cannot be.

if you need Denatured Alcohol, It's not banned by California. The companies that make it stopped supplying it to california businesses. You can order it from walmart and they will ship it to you, that's what I did 3 months ago. Also if you visit Az they have it cheap.

Vogelsang is a German word meaning bird song. Pronounced like Fo-gel-zang. The “gel” is like “angle” not “hair gel”
